Ah shit. We're ****ed if Mads is injured.

It really doesn't matter if Iversen's footwork is poor, we need a good shot stopper right now, as it's the Alamo every game. It's not like Ward is Neuer with his feet either.

Sewer more like.

Poeple were saying he was chucking up during the first half? Was that just bollocks then?

Any somewhat serious injury to Hermansen and we're down. I don't see us getting any points with Ward in goal.

That he asked to come off is bad news

Thought it was good. Sounds like it was precautionarily done.

My suspicion is that he was taken off at HT because he's too important to risk and was ill before the game. With a genuinely huge game next week, that is a smart move. Today was always a bonus game.

What's more questionable is that Ward was taken to SJP in the first place when he is our fourth best GK. Hopefully, RVN has learned that Ward is too big a risk even to be a backup.

I'm not too worried about Ruud's comments about Mads.

Best scenario- No manager is going to admit he was substituted because he was chucking up. A little made up niggle that can disappear easily works for the press.

Or he was ill, and developed a niggle. This is highly probable as when you are ill you're more likely to pick up an injury. I'd imagine any sign of a niggle and you whip him off. Wrap him up in cotton wool and pray he is fit and well for the next game.

Or he wasn't ill but simply did develop a niggle. At 1-0 down at HT it was highly probable we'd lose or a best pick up an improbable point. I'd imagine a fit and well Mads for the next ten games will be more beneficial to us than a chance of a point at Newcastle.

Or he’s pulled his groin and will be out for a few weeks.
We just have to hope it’s a minor strain. .

Mercury says madds pulled a groiny

Such a niggly and complex injury sometimes - fingers fully crossed he can make a quick recovery. Ward in goal with have a knock on effect confidence wise to back 4 and whole team really

That's very true.  I guess the club has a very big decision to make in January.

There is only one answer, even if you sell him for 50 million, relegation is worth more then that.

It has also been proven the penalty for breaching PSR isnt really much of a deterrent.  Logically no matter how much the EPL will want to stick the boot in, they cant exceed the punishment for going into admin.

I've got all my fingers and toes crossed hoping that Mads injury is not to serious he will be a massive loss, I would have a rusty Stolarczyk in goal way ahead of Ward and Iversen.

What has happened to Stolarcyzk? Enzo was using him as our keeper in cup games and he always looked good.

Edit: I literally didn't take time to read the last post lol

He suffered a severe ankle injury in July. He's back training I think, but presumably hasn't yet been match fit.

People keep saying this but none of our back four have ever played with Ward in goal, most weren't even at the club when he was our regular keeper. So how can they have their confidence affected from zero experience.

I'd say it's more the fans perceptions.
