Good player, doesn’t have that X Factor as we found out in the premier league but will come back from it, you could tell he was hurting at the end, head in hands in the dugout.

He is having a crisis in confidence and Stephy is 100% a confidence player - he needs us to be patient and maybe rest him for a couple of games allowing Monga to start may be good for him. Can see BCDR coming in soon as the manager is a big fan!

I have thought for a while there is an issue between him and Fatawu. Number of times there could have been good cross field balls between the TWI that did not happened was noticeable. Changed when he went off Fatawu happy to play over to Monga. For 1 5 seasons now Madvadidi seems to have lost the ability to commit defenders wants to turn back for ball retention and always needs that extra touch. He currently offers us nothing.

Towards the tail end of the season he completely dried up. If Monga put in that performance he’d be not ready/miles off it/needs to come off the bench etc 

Disagree. Those are good stats for a winger.

I have complete faith Mavididi will come good again. I remember the criticism around him in March/April 2024 and then he went and scored two massively crucial goals at home to win us both games vs Birmingham and Norwich. 

 

Will happen again for him.

For a play off chasing side maybe. He played 46 games too.
 

Bundu who got relegated with Plymouth had 10 G and 6 A in about 60% of the minutes. Callum Robinson with similar numbers last season too.

I could be overthinking it, but at the time it seemed quite telling that he preferred to walk by the away end rather than the kop when he was hooked.

He would always ignore a 1-2 with VK last year.  Greedy player who thinks he is better than he is.  I used to like him and he is good at this curling shots.  Tries too hard when the first time shot or cross is on and walks away with nothing.

I feel for him. Not once has he been a nob to us and clearly is trying his best but his form is dismal.

 

i don’t understand it at all, not like he’s been begging for a move away or anything but just doesn’t seem right in the head.

He was a touch line winger in Enzo’s system, barely played within the width of the goal. 
 

With that context his numbers were impressive.

He needs a full back behind him that will overlap & take defenders away. Thomas is incapable of doing this so let's see how Stepy goes with VK at full back

Especially early in the season he was the most advanced winger and often the most advanced player e.g Southampton away. As soon as teams worked out our system he wasn’t very effective, some of that was the system 

 

Only 4 of his 12 league goals in 23/24 came in 2024 - he’s never really hit any form since late 2023. I like him as a player but he has to  start performing, 0 goals or assists in 5 Championship starts isn’t good enough.

Yeah since 2023 he’s just not been at it. 
 

He should’ve had 25-30+ goal contributions in that Enzo season but he fell short. 
 

Time for some bench time and hard work.

Reminds me a lot of Vardy in that respect, once he gets a goal or assist he will be flying again. What we have to accept with Stephy is he goes through these runs of 5/6 games without making a telling contribution and unfortunately when he is on this type of run in general his performance is well below what he is capable of. 
 

Vardy went through similar runs of form and when he wasn’t scoring or assisting he could largely be anonymous but as soon as he got a goal he would usually go on a decent run. Whilst very different players in this aspect they are very similar.

Think Monga is poor at defending  as to be expected, seems a little lost when the opposition has the ball. Perhaps that is why he doesnt start as he is miles beeter at everything else compared to stephy
