Should have been out of sight before Cardiff scored an equaliser it was a battle in the second half but most important thing is winning, at this stage the fluency in movements will improve as the season goes on.

Thought the first half was the best half we’ve played in the league this season. Should have been 3 up really aside from Ramsay’s wonder strike.

Less said about the second half the better, but we were fortunate in the end.

Loving being in the Championship…so much more forgiving 😅

The whole thing gets so much clearer when the window shuts, come on lads one more win, 2 if we include the cup game. Then if you are a potential signing and you have the choice out of Leicester or Leeds, I think we look a lot better prospect especially if they lose to Ipswich next week.

First half was decent enough today, controlled without ever looking capable of blowing the opponent away and limited Cardiff to nothing but a wonder strike.

2nd half was poor. When the rhythm goes out of the game and we get disjointed both facets of our game collapse, both offensively and defensively.

Individually I don't think anyone stood out. KDH particularly poor and if not for his engine which sees him elevate his game late on, he'd have been hooked. The back 3 all looked shaky at points, I was surprised they took Bowler off who'd skinned Doyle a few times. Great that Casadei got the winner and he showed a couple of decent touches, but our midfield shape worsened after that change.

Would like to see us string a performance together for more than 45 mins, even if it's something as simple as not looking so vulnerable in transition. At some point relatively soon our luck will run out.

Felt to me like, had we had better game management for first half injury time, we'd probably have carried on as before into the 2nd half, creating chances and, given that cardiff looked to be falling apart at the seams, maybe taking a few - but one sloppy pass from KDH and the momentum shifts, they raise, we fall.

I thought we played better then a lot on here.

I wouldn't want to see any FT members turn out for City.

How in the name of Raw Dykes is that not a penalty?

Yeah should have been one, and without VAR that could have been a controversial talking point. But I am glad play went on and we scored, given we missed some big penalties at the end of last season.

Not really, they don’t even have the highest net spend

Our next spend is around -50m, Cardiff is -300k

So which are you doing over all spend or net?  lol

Or you just making up the rules to suit your argument.

The ref gave us very little all game - the first peno would have been given in the prem all day long.

Winning without playing well is good enough at this stage but god we need to shed the last of Rodgers ball and get some tempo in this if we're gonna reliably unpick defences. So much room on both wings but the balls were so slow that we could never exploit it

100% spot on.

I've posted similar before, saying I can understand why possession and patience is key to 'Enzo's Idea’ but god we are so boring to watch.  I'm half expecting to still see the little clapping toad and his notebook in the dugout still.

At times its like we are afraid to let go once we hit the halfway line. We just stop, and for the love of Christ we have to up the tempo in our play.  Do the passing and keep the possession, but do it faster, and really press forward when doing so. In the Cov match we did it a few times and cut through them like a hot knife, so it's in the locker, just not coming out and being deployed too often.

Yes I appreciate it's still early days and we are a few players short of Enzo's Ideal team, but it pains me to admit that I don't see it changing if his wishes were granted,Yes we will win and possibly get out of this dump of a league, but I fear for our first season back in the promised land if promoted.

I now await the chorus of "back your team, it's to early to say that, we are still a work on progress, transfer business still to be completed, judge him at Xmas" - but I think what we are witnessing now is what we will be at the halfway point of the season, is Enzo's way,  but like I said it's boring.

It was a great game and I really enjoyed it, I'd have taken the draw, anyone with any sense can see Cardiff will be a team challenging play off places, they played some nice football

Possibly, but they were chaotic in that period before they scored, we really should have finished the game off.  More confident goal scoring teams will enjoy playing cardiff.

1st half well on top and should've scored more. Obvious we were going to concede as soon as we gave it away cheaply and then let Ramsey have a free shot.

Second half they were the better team imo. Kept us at bay and looked dangerous going forward. We had absolutely no urgency whatsoever and didn't look like scoring bar one or two moments.

Funny that KDH is getting some criticism, yet statistically he had a really good game and, at least according to opta, was MOTM :dunno:

A win is a win and you can't argue with 9 from 9.

However, it has to be said that we have rode our luck in all 3 games and if other side's had more composed strikers we could be sitting on a lot less points and you could argue it might have been deserved. But we aren't, so that's a positive.

But we can't carry these stop start performances for long before it bites us on the arse a number of times and we drop points all the time.

The building blocks are there, but we lack goals, we lack creativity, and are still suspect at the back.

You say 'obvious' but there's probably only one player in the league capable of scoring that goal....

Don't be daft. Plenty of players would give it a good go 25 yards out, perfect angle for a right footer, absolutely no pressure on the ball.

Precisely why statistics are only a small part of the picture. He gave the ball away umpteen times and was extremely wasteful today.

Wilf would certainly give it a good go. lol

Did you really think the last fifteen or so of the second half was boring?  I thought it was a great watch with quick, incisive passing tearing Cardiff a new one.  Nothing like the end of Rodger's tenure.

Presumably and hopefully, with time, we'll see more of that over the 90m. It's still a very new system with a number of players not ideally suited to it.

You say we lack creativity but we created 20 shots against coventry, 17 against huddersfield and 15 today - i don't think it's the quanity that we're lacking, it's more the quality of finishing that's lacking.  And even thenm, there're only three teams who have scored more goals than us.  Which probably ties into your other observation - maybe this is the standard of finishing at this level, maybe it's not luck but just the state of things down here?
