Possibly, but they were chaotic in that period before they scored, we really should have finished the game off.  More confident goal scoring teams will enjoy playing cardiff.

Yeah, we could do with more attacking options if we want to be serious about going for automatic, that's for sure

Don't be daft. Plenty of players would give it a good go 25 yards out, perfect angle for a right footer, absolutely no pressure on the ball.

This is the championship, you know.  You have seen the standard of finishing at this level?

First half, bar the last minute of it everyone looked good and they barely layed a glove on us. For most of the second half they had their tactics spot on, sitting back and then attacking with pace, often leaving Vestegaard in the mud as per. We kept plugging away though, and eventually found, as Enzo would say, a solution.

Still need a right winger though, but Wanya is improving. Just needs a little better final ball and the confidence to be more aggressive in taking on his man, but those things come with games, he has played 0 professional football before this season so was always going to be a bit raw. His goal was sensational though.

Precisely why statistics are only a small part of the picture. He gave the ball away umpteen times and was extremely wasteful today.

By a certain standard, maybe - but he still made 35 of his 43 passes and led the team with 4 key passes. Not saying he was at his best, but certainly odd that a number of people seem to have, let's just say, focused on what he did wrong rather than what he did well.

Did you really think the last fifteen or so of the second half was boring?  I thought it was a great watch with quick, incisive passing tearing Cardiff a new one.  Nothing like the end of Rodger's tenure.

Presumably and hopefully, with time, we'll see more of that over the 90m. It's still a very new system with a number of players not ideally suited to it.

You've picked up on my point.

I said it's in the locker but not being used enough. Yes I know it's not humanly possible to perform like the final 15min for all of the match  but for the majority of the other 75mins we were opposite and at times it was lackluster and boring on the eye

I truly hope you are right with your second point, as it's what I'm wishing for as well.

We were lucky not to be behind with our silly mistakes at the back (and shakiness at the back generally with Vesty and Faes). If Cardiff had been more clinical in the second half, they would have scored before we did. That is the point.

And by the way, we have better players but they were not in the team. Marcal gave away the ball so many times on the right. Albrighton should have come on earlier. If Praet on the bench, maybe he could have come on instead.

And if we’d have been more clinical, we’d have been out of sight come HT?

I obviously say this from my not been to the game glasshouse — but what on earth is going on with the kop for the winner? Have they been told they’re not allowed to celebrate?

Luckily our manager doesnt hook based on a mistake.  We would end up with no players on the pitch.  KDH ended up contributing to the goal.

I'm not saying he should have gone off because of any mistakes I'm saying he should have gone off because his overall game today wasn't very good. He's better than he showed today.

Lacked a bit of urgency today but got the result which is the main thing. Once Coady is fit him and Faes should be more than comfortable at this level. Feel like we somehow need to get JJ into this team but not sure where he plays other than instead of Ricardo.

KDH has the stamina and ability to dominate the midfield in most games, he needs to forget the Hollywood passes and instead drive forward and play it simple. Casadei arriving late in the box could be a real asset this season.

Thought Mavididi had his worst game yet still has the flair and tricks to get the crowd on their feet. Needs to trust himself more and go on the outside (can probably say the same for Marcal). EM has clearly told the midfielders to get into the box in attacking situations so the wide men need to deliver and at worse you get a corner, shot on goal etc.

The forwards are where we have the most difficulty as Ian on his day is great but not across a full season. Hate to say it but Vardy is a final 15min man and that’s it. We need to shift someone and bring in a forward who has more presence, technique and pace - in this team that individual will score goals.

I feel like we will see a lot of copy and paste away performances like Cardiff today so we need to find a way of getting the second goal as that completely changes how the away team have to approach the rest of the game and will work in our favour.

4 out of 4 tho. Is EM a lucky manager? Hope so, we need one. Up the Shagging Foxes

1st half we should have 2 up, not going in at 1-1.

2nd half we were laboured and inconsistent.

Still a long way to go until we're cooking.

One of the worst things to happen to football was opta stats. In the hands of trained professionals they can help in recruitment to a degree, but just chucking numbers out is irrelevant. He missed 8 of 43 passed based on your stats - so nearly 20% - but what they don't tell you was how many of them led to breakaways and he also lost the ball multiple times without it being a pass. He was a liability today.

Keeping some gas in the tank for the last 15-20 min of a game requires slowing it down at times a bit earlier.

It isn't co-incidence that we have switched from being a team that concedes late goals to be one that scores them.

Uncle Vester was a tad shaky at times but Faes positively went to sleep a couple times and was roundly chewed out a couple of times, really need another CB in.

The mentality shift we’ve had is massive.  It’s great we are scoring late rather than conceding. Thought we were good first half, but came out slow second half again. Partly understandable with the goal and how it would’ve rocked us because we were so dominant. At times I think we are trying too hard for the perfect opening. But we deserved to win.

You really can’t moan when you’ve won 4 in a row following a miserable season.

Enzo is installing a winning mentality into the team, the style will come once the team is settled. Only Leicester fans could find something to moan about after 4 wins in a row.

Weird.

I haven’t seen too many moaners in here. Just people discussing the performance. Positives and negatives.

It’s sort of a forum for that exact thing.

Do you just want to read the same thing in every post? Here you go;

”Another 3 points, onwards and upwards! In Enzo we trust”

lol

Wasn't great, wasn't pretty, i'd go as far as saying it was a little boring - but! Nothing is boring when you've sat through the last 2 years, today was positively edge of your seat stuff in comparison! (And it literally was at times).

Another win, keep em' rolling.

We're scraping wins which, for those of us who have spent the majority of their time following a second tier Leicester, is key to success in this league.

Very positive start.

Last year we would have drawn at best pr lost.

Enzo has hopefully changed the mindset.

I know we were poor at times but who cares!!!

Agree with this, no harm in both Mavididi and Marcal whipping balls into the box from the wide areas. With the players we have arriving late it could be a strong tactic this season
