Poor mentality that he didn't even want to give it a go.

He probably didn't want to give it a go at a club where he was so unhappy, felt was in disarray and where he felt he just didn't fit in as a young man away from home. I appreciate that Maresca had arrived but, to add learning a new position just to play second fiddle to another player there, when you're already unhappy is hardly a great option. At his age you'd want regular games and to get on in your career.

Personally I wish him well and think with the right club he'll have a good career.

Sounds like he is not impressing too much at Bologna. We may struggle to recoup the money spent on him.

Any source on that?

good, let enzo work on him over the summer and convince him to change his game, save us a chunk of money signing 2 left backs for that role

I'm not surprised. I seen him play in one game and he turned his back on the Ball and it ended in the Net. A game Bologne lost.

Someone is ignoring the articles where Bologna are apparently already chasing City about lowering the agreed transfer fee.

Whilst at the same time he breaks through in Denmark’s full national team

I'm not ignoring anything. I just saw this today and commented on it

I think they started chasing the moment he left on the plane over.

Bologna now level on points with Atalanta in 4th (albeit Atalanta have a game in hand and a better GD). Should Bologna make it into the promised land, maybe a sale isn't so unrealistic seeing as VK is starting most games while on this great run.

Motta seems to like him, and he’s improved with every game. Think he’d like them to buy him, but I still don’t think they can pay our asking price even if they end up in a CL spot

If they get CL they will spend money but no doubt they'd still try and pay less for him than the option price.

Any attempt to do that should be bead-batted away.  That is not a precedent we want to set.

I wouldn't be against rehabilitating him back into the squad next year if he wants it.

Italian clubs delight in the loan, option to buy, pitiful offer, don't sign at agreed price......and most are skint.......I suspect Inter shifted the goalposts last month, rendering the Sensi deal dead.....

Pretty confident he's said he doesn't want to come back, nor is he someone Enzo wants as doesn't suit the system. Literally no other option than to sell

You can loan him again.

The rudkin play book is to send unwanted players out on loan and forget about them - out of sight out of mind.  WE have a load of player we should fire sale.

It's all clubs, outside a few champions league clubs nobody else can spend the money we'd expect.

Why? Loans can be more lucrative than just flogging someone ridiculously cheap. Every player, their age, contract length, cost, wages, offers coming in (or not), shold be considered individually. The "just get rid" attitude just flys in the face of what we really want to do, which is recoup as much as we possibly can, whether that's in one transaction or multiple.

Well if that's the plan then we shouldn't have gone into dealings with Italian clubs

And what clubs do you think we should have dealt with?

No option but to put VK on the market to gauge clubs' interest and what they are willing to pay.

A Prem club would be expected to beat Bologna's price.  If none are interested, we'll just have to negotiate for as much as we can get from the Italians.

He's young, still establishing himself, and needs to play.  And is under contract until 2028.  He doesn't yet hold the cards to determine where he goes.
