It's a huge outlier to watch Vestergaard run and think, 'three more years of that, please'.

Re-signing Vestergaard and contract extensions for the likes of Choudhury and Thomas are less about individual quality and more about backing ourselves into a corner - we knew we didn't have many/any funds for new signings, so to keep squad numbers up you have to keep dross around for longer than you 'should'

Of all the ridiculous wages we have paid. Hamza Choudhury being one of the highest paid in the league shows how ****ing stupid the club is.

at no point has he ever established himself as a 1st team regular in any division, he is from the academy so there was never a reason to pay big wages to get him to sign etc and he is a knob head!

Yeah, but consider the commercial revenue from Bangladesh! There are 175 million people who think he's god with an afro, you know!

I mean sure, 28% of the country lives in abject poverty and the average annual salary is £2,200, meaning it would cost the average Bangladeshi three weeks' salary to get a shirt with his name on, and given it's the bootleg clothing capital of the world anyone that keen could just get one made locally for pennies... but nah, totally worth it, untapped market, Rudders knows what's up.

I just find that incredibly hard to believe as I don't think it is much about planning than it is just standard contracts. I don't doubt that every player at Man City/Chelsea/UTD/Liverpool etc has the same clauses in their contract despite those teams not expecting to get relegated.

I’m probably phrasing it poorly - I’ve got no doubt we had relegation clauses in place, but we’re still massively over the break-even point for this division.

And it’s one thing putting in a relegation clause in someone’s contract whilst in the premier league, it’s another thing entirely having a clause that covers a double relegation so quickly

and fwiw, I’m speculating based on the competency of the board in general rather than any insider knowledge of contracts. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that even the most switched on board would struggle to get us in line with league one finances so swiftly from the point where we were in the prem

Stevie Bute sounds like the sort of cvnt who can't pick what to have for breakfast without running it by some nefarious, wasteful data centre in California.

Similar to Luke Thomas, someone put in his thread that he’s a League 1 player, similar to Hamza imo so credit where credit is due Rudkin has been planning for the future after all.

Has anyone at the club consulted AI about the managerial situation at the club, and the way forward? Well, I’ve just done that - and here’s the result:

“For Leicester City to achieve their best outcome (avoiding relegation and returning to the Premier League), recruiting Russell Martin is the clear choice. His tactical acumen, Championship experience, and leadership qualities make him the ideal candidate to stabilize the team and implement a sustainable playing style. Andy King, while a club legend, is not equipped for the demands of the role, and delaying a permanent appointment would only worsen Leicester’s predicament.

The club should act swiftly to secure Martin’s services—before their relegation fears become a reality.

Final Recommendation: Recruit Russell Martin as the new permanent manager.”

FM gives me new hope that AI will die out before the human race

Out of interest, why do you think a clause would have to specifically cover double relegation or relegation to League 1? Would it not just be a percentage reduction in the event of relegation, that would be valid based on relegation from the PL to the Championship and then the same percentage of the revised wage in the event of further relegation to L1?

That would be my understanding but I could be well off.

This gives me more confidence AI isn't going to be taking my job anytime soon.

Wondering why there isn't more general football media reporting on the fact that we're on the precipice of relegation to League One? Is it just because it's 'only' February?

Because it’s not that big of a news story unfortunately. It won’t gain clicks at the moment

They did use our current badge, just for some reason they increased the brightness a ton

That Spurs one was absolutely peak Brendan Rodgers.

Probably the most Brendan Rodgers moment of all time.

Gonna get relegated because Aiyawatt couldn't be bothered to do the basic aspects of a CEO and is too arrogant to admit it... anyone who doesn't want them driven out with pitchforks has their head in the sand
