I don't think "struggled" is ott. Yes we won our first 4 which was great, but we weren't convincing in any game and haven't created many chances until tonight. I think we had more good chances tonight than we did in all our other games combined. We always knew it would take time for Enzos tactics to work 100%.

We were walking the tightrope before tonight and could have fell either side imo.

Nothing like seeing Vardy wheel away triumphant and point to his name on his shirt.

Point me to a finer sight.

It was a thing of beauty the way he ran straight to their fans to goad them. Reminiscent of the beautiful Eagle at selhurst Park.

Just got back home after a great away win and a good laugh with some saints lads after the game ,who took us on a bit of a piss up around Southampton.

Feeling it now though🤢 and another night out to tackle🍺🍺😄

Would love to see the RM interview if anyone's got it👍

The worst thing for Saints is that they'll probably still have enough to beat 50% of the division and keep Martin in post. They need their defence to keep leaking and hope the manager gets changed. Not automatic promotion material with him in charge.

Usually one of the relegated teams has a bit of a free fall. Could be Southampton this season. Leaking as fast as the Titanic.

Vesitgaard was great, not 1 mistake, unlike all the other matches where he'd make 1 bad error. Actually jumped to dominate in the air as well instead of just hoping his body could block players out.

They were not too bad going down their right and moved the ball fast but we were always covered at the final defensive position.

Interesting formation, selection and which went to prove Enzo has a "plan b".

Only annoyance was I thought the support was quite and pretty crap and the moron behind me shouting for Enzo to "short it out" when we were winning 2-1 and yelling for us to whack it forward, right before the fantastic Ndidi goal

Mavididi the MOTM for me. 2 assists and a goal.

He had two other opportunities, one he probably should have passed, but won't hold that against him as he's a striker and wants to score.

The second he completely miss hit when it looked like he just had the hit the target.

But despite that, he was excellent.

Said to my dad that it's the best I've seen him look in ages, well over a year. I don't think it's any coincidence that it was against the 2nd worst defence I have ever seen us play against though (the worst being Southampton 2019 :D)

Can you imagine what prime Vardy would have done to that defence tonight? It would have been a massacre.

...totally different style and we would be focused on playing to Vardy's strengths!!!

Vardy as always looked fit and sharp, it was the others around him that wasn't up to pressing in the same way Vardy wanted to. Stopping him doing dog legs upfront perhaps doesn't quite suit him, but it keeps him switched on,  and ready to take his chance at the drop of a hat.

The way we played under Rodgers meant isolation and snatching at half chances.

...their team appeared to be in transition much like ours!!!

Maresca stated we were at one stage 10 - 20% where we need to be, I wonder what he would say, 20% and going in the right way.

Southampton needs to make a few adjustments,  their keeper being replaced could push them on quicker but I am not ruling them out of anything. We all know this style of play is not easy to cultivate, and most clubs are wishing to emulate it, going forward. They contributed to a good game, even if they are not as far in their development as we have become.

Enzo's style is clearly taking roots amongst the players. Without the ball you can see them moving into space and positioning themselves to receive it in better positions facing the play. This not only lets them see what's in front of them but the speed in which it's happening is catching teams out.
