ALC Fox Posted 27 May 2024 Posted 27 May 2024 I really liked some of the football we were able to play last season. When we clicked we really did dominate teams. But, there were some obvious downs and question marks over whether it was Enzo or not who dragged us over the line. It's way too early in his career to say definitively that losing him would be like losing a Pep or Klopp early in their careers. He has a lot to prove. I'll be sad to see him go but there are managers out there who will give us a good shot at staying up, whatever the playing style. 1

We don't have the budget for the players required. Not that bothered he is leaving to be honest. We beat Bournemouth and took Chelsea very close, maybe his style is better suited to the Prem 1

Popular Post Samilktray Posted 27 May 2024 Popular Post Posted 27 May 2024 Feel quite sad about this, always came across as a decent principled bloke who understood the importance of the fans. Hope he does well 7 1
FLAN Posted 27 May 2024 Posted 27 May 2024 The only downside is we’ve probably signed vestergaard up and not many managers would want him at this level
Beechey Posted 27 May 2024 Posted 27 May 2024 (edited) wonder if we get much for his staff as well Edited 27 May 2024 by Beechey 1
katieakita Posted 27 May 2024 Posted 27 May 2024 Enzo has done what was asked of him but does his style keep us up. Plenty on here saying he should have gone after Plymouth away and plenty moaning about a lack of a plan B and saying he will be gone by Xmas if he stays here. A case of out of the frying pan and into the fire but if he goes to Chelski good luck as he will need it. Anyone going to put an argument for the style we played last year with our squad will work in the premiership as looks a big ask to me. Plenty of decent managers about with the added bonus that if things go wrong a possible points deduction and cash shortage gives a ready made excuse. It looks likely he will go so a nice little compo payments hitting the accounts is a positive. Next season has not even started and plenty on here all doom and gloom
Happy Fox Posted 27 May 2024 Posted 27 May 2024 (edited) It’s a shame he’s jumping ship but it’s totally understandable. Edited 27 May 2024 by Happy Fox
adejo92 Posted 27 May 2024 Posted 27 May 2024 Enzo would over complicate things and stick with champagne football with lemonade players. For next season, given our problems, we just need to do the basics and grind out points, even if it's not pretty. Next season is just about survival and I really don't think Enzo would achieve it. 4

Jonezy Posted 27 May 2024 Posted 27 May 2024 All the best to him from me. He came and did the job and I am thankful for that. But in rough times, I was not impressed; not using the squad, persistent with the tactics and weird takes in interviews. Kudos for connecting with the fans and make the squad believe again.
Popular Post adejo92 Posted 27 May 2024 Popular Post Posted 27 May 2024 I mean, it took Jamie Vardy to arrange a player only meeting to turn our form around and ultimately ensure promotion 6

ronnup Posted 27 May 2024 Posted 27 May 2024 (edited) I genuinely think that the pressing from Premier league teams would have seen us getting in a tangle. We couldn't afford to strengthen the squad enough to play his way in the Prem. 10 mill and the opportunity for something new is ok for me. If he takes anyone, I think it'd be Mads Edited 27 May 2024 by ronnup 3

He wont have ANY loyalty to us, he will just see us as a stepping stone. Sacked by Xmas hopefully for them👍🏾 McKenna has shown loyalty. It does exist. I have no issue with being used as a stepping stone but after 1 season? Not having that, we should expect better as fans, I’m sure the players that have worked hard under him, players like Winksy will be surprised and disappointed. I agree with your Xmas prediction though! 4

Molson Canadian Posted 27 May 2024 Posted 27 May 2024 Rudkin better be driving a hard bargain for the compensation. Anyone know if the printer/scanner/fax machine in the background of this picture was replaced? 1

gjp Posted 27 May 2024 Posted 27 May 2024 Whatever. Seen so much in my 50 years time. If he wants out then laters. Doubt very much he'll do much at Chelsea tbh. Unless he finishes top 4 he's a failure and look at the competition. With us it's a mid table playing nice football. Penny wise pound stupid. Crack on if you want.
