Who do you want for next season if we go up?

Recommended Posts

No signings of Championship players please (look at the humiliation of luton, sheff, burnley), unless its Jobe Bellingham because of his possible future resale value after a couple seasons in the Prem.

We can't take risks and be cheap with signings, Khun Top and Maresca both know this. The club will require neat and tidy players that can play the Enzo ball at the highest level.

Strange view. Many top players come from the lower leagues. It depends on the players ability and ceiling not whether they have been in the Championship or not…

I don't doubt that, but why would you want Leicester to take a risk with a player who is unproven at the top level? This is a crucial moment for the club to get back to where we were, that won't happen by signing second division players. We don't want to be another club that is content with fighting to stay up, do we?

We won the league with a lot of guys who had mainly Championship and lower experience.

That was an anomaly, an enormous achievement that is the greatest story in footballing history. Thus, that squad can't be used as a metric for a team to be succesful in the Premier League season of 2024. Neither should it be an excuse for settling for second division player signings in a transfer window.

Enzo signed a total of 0 permanent players from the Championship and that is for our Championship squad this year.

All of Maresca's permanent signings:

3 Prem players (Coady, Winks, Cannon)

1 Ligue 1 player (Mavididi)

1 Superliga goalkeeper (Hermansen)

And thats just a temporary squad for the Championship!

So now it would be ridiculous to stoop down a level from Mavididi or Winks next summer when the priority will be to build a squad that can actually be taken seriously in the Premier League.

If we are too why would KDH go?  Can’t see it.

We have to be ruthless.  Vesty is at best back up in PL so depends on wages - so less than he was on. Will he sign that, who knows?

Vardy also needs to take a massive pay cut but I’d have him around.

Nacho and Ndiddi new contracts

A Striker is an absolute must.

...the standard of defence in front of him is poor, very hard to judge his real ability!!!

Not many goals scored in 22  games 2 and 3 assists if I recall and most notably decision-making is his big weakness, we have enough of that already.

Take note Mavididi, steer the ball into the net, what you are doing in front of the goal is ridiculous, calm yourself and pick a spot. The more power you use, the less control.

You see that depends entirely. Were Burnley to get relegated would you mind us picking up Trafford, were Sheff Utd to get relegated would you mind us picking up Hamer? They'd be Championship players when we bid for them.

Maddison was signed from the Championship and did well for us before being sold at a profit.

We needed leadership this summer so the signings of Coady and Winks made a lot of sense. Experienced pros with a point to prove. Cannon wasn't a Prem player, he was sat in the development squad at Everton.

You sign the best player you can for what you need. Doesn't matter where those players come from. Brighton have proved that, they sign anyone that fits the bill from anywhere. The youngsters at Sunderland Clarke and Bellingham might well interest us next summer. If we lose more experienced heads we might have to go back to shopping for our of favour Prem players. I'd not rule out one or the other.

Your stats are wrong I think, also he's only just turned 18

Crazy how many of you are happy to let KDH go.

He is far to slow in transition to be a starter in a Premier league team.

It’s been a brilliant season this far but he’s had more average games than good even at this level.

If we get promoted and he’s in our starting 11 next season then we are in trouble imo
