LestaLad Posted 31 December 2023 Posted 31 December 2023 If Southampton are interested then we need to be in the mix.

Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 31 December 2023 Posted 31 December 2023 He was at the forest game yesterday so I think you can give up your hopes. Mendez client and they're all over him there.

Would you therefore just kick them out of the squad to make way for some more whilst still paying their wages? I can see Cannon getting more game time, remember, because of injury he had no preseason and they are rightfully protecting him. They signed him knowing that he was injured so I doubt they'll just dump him without giving him ample opportunity to prove himself. They clearly wanted him. Akgun again we haven't seen. Enzo hasn't tended to replace players willy nilly if they're playing well just to have a look and see. It's this approach that has kept us at the top.

Romano doesn’t report speculation, so that would suggest that their interest is very strong and they’re likely front runners to get him. Also, unlikely he’d be out on loan again next season so would be a very temporary move.
Ric Flair Posted 31 December 2023 Posted 31 December 2023 Southampton getting Manuel Benson from Burnley too.

stu Posted 1 January 2024 Posted 1 January 2024 Why haven’t we signed anyone yet? Have we learnt nothing at all?! 1
FrankieADZ Posted 1 January 2024 Posted 1 January 2024 ideal transfer window- get rid of Ward, Iversen, Praet and maybe Kel if we get a right sort of bid bring in a number 8 and a striker(on loan)

Claudio Fannieri Posted 1 January 2024 Posted 1 January 2024 I can see Kel and Praet moving on even if it’s for a small loan fee and wages being covered as this would free up funds for Enzo to bring players in better suited to his style and system. Nothing more than a feeling but I also wouldn’t be suprised to see Vardy head to Saudi in this winter window. His injury has been a bit of a strange one, with no real confirmation of what it is or timeline for his return. Probably wrong but does make me wonder if we are open to a deal to again free up funds/budget for incomings. 2

scinnell Posted 1 January 2024 Posted 1 January 2024 I would use this window to sell as many fringe players as possible (especially the ones not out of contract in the summer). That will mean we have a trimmed squad in the summer, and we're ready to buy players rather than sell to buy, which has been the problem in recent seasons. Plus we'll be in a much stronger position and able to attract better profiles of players in the summer 1 1
Scotch Posted 1 January 2024 Posted 1 January 2024 Ideal window for me would be... Ward and/or Iversen out. Souttar out. Praet out. Jacob Greaves in. Left footed CB who can play LB and would be ideal for the LCB/LB hybrid role. Gronbaek or Carvalho in. A no.8 who can create goals but also cover wingers. Particuarly during AFCON. I would love a striker that fits how Enzo would want to play. Someone who can come deep, link with the players that go beyond him. We only have Nacho who can really do that and for whatever reason, he's not performed. If we could sell him, maybe loan out Cannon and get one in with Daka/Vardy offering something different it would be ideal but I have no idea who.
Future Fox Posted 1 January 2024 Posted 1 January 2024 (edited) Danny Ward (Out) Macaulay Langstaff (IN) Abdul Fatawu (Permanent) Edited 1 January 2024 by Future Fox 1
cityfanlee23 Posted 1 January 2024 Posted 1 January 2024 (edited) If we can get Carvalho on loan with a buy option we should absolutely rip their arms off if the price is £15m or less, i'd be tempted to pay £20m for him in summer (incl addons) if we go up, this is a serious player being completely wasted at Liverpool, the right club, the right system, he has massive massive potential. Edit: I should add I know a permanent deal is unlikely, but Liverpool need to assure him game time or he might get impatient. Edited 1 January 2024 by cityfanlee23

We have four of them, all who have scored at an extremely competitive rate when played, and we play a one striker system. 8 and "Doyle" cover are our priorities I'd imagine. Wouldn't surprise me if all we do is bring in another box to box midfielder on loan and look to use the window to sell or loan the guys that aren't playing or are running out their contracts. 2
