Wouldn't be surprised to see Albrighton feature after Enzo mention him in his post match interview....

Don't see where he fits in here anymore.

.. supplying Vardy!!!

His first instinct is where is Vardy and he will release a pass, which we would take another 5 to get in a scoring position, when the defence are all back in place.

  A bit like a mini plan B.

If we end up with casadei and ndidi as the 8s, there's at least some height for him to aim at for the first time since ulloa.

Don't think we have a good record at Hillsborough do we? Think we lost there midweek with Knocky scoring first and losing 2-1 under Pearson, promotion season or the season before.

They scored the same goal twice.

You can't play him as a RW in this system, there's absolutely no support from full backs or 8's to create space for Albrighton to expose them 1 v 1. So all he's in for is to recycle possession and chip crosses in that is highly likely going to be against deep blocks where its food and drink for the opposition.

I suppose he could play the inverted RB role, but Hamza is 1st reserve in that role.

.. I would imagine he would not be as high as Fatawu and would interchange with the right sided #8, where he would go and be in the half space, with the #8 outside of him!!!

I think it is because Sheff Wed were formed by engineering apprentices who had Wednesday afternoon off. Any Wednesday fans on here can confirm?

Sounds fair .I think from memory hinckley hosiery workers used to have thursday afternoons off but worked saturday.the leics golf alliance was formed back in the 40s and played thursday afternoons a lot of shop and factory owners involved

There isn't an 8 we have who can take players on though. Even Yunus struggles in this regard. Its a complete non starter for me, unless Maresca tweaks the system to enable a player not strong in 1 v 1's to get the space needed. McAteer isn't very good in 1 v 1s either but is quick and is very good at finding space when the ball is played down the other flank.

...I  see what to mean regarding adhering to Maresca's way of playing!!!

It is not about take ons out wide or  1 v 1 from the winger. Fatawu may get you off your seat and hold the attention of a defender but he is not producing.

If Albrighton is drafted in, firstly he cements the right side because he is not been pushed too high and him cutting in allows the #8 to go wide, but that doesn't mean the #8 needs to be adept  at 1 v 1s, it is more or less support to the attack.

Albrighton releasing Vardy with quick ball, puts the opposition defence on the back foot, and we would be mixing our approach within the game. Give the opposition something to think about.

Saying all this, I cannot see Vardy playing on Wednesday, Nacho not covered himself in glory and funny  I think Maresca likes him, so I see Cannon as the starter, he will be a refreshing change and a match winner for us, definitely.

Must win but we've got a massive game on Saturday 12:30 away at WBA.

I'd make changes.

Hermansen

Faes Coady Justin

Hamza Winks

Fatawu Ndidi Yunus McAteer

Vardy

Cannon to get 30 minutes off the bench.

Probably the most misused footballing term. Will the EFL cancel our promotion if we don't beat Sheffield Wednesday?

Hmm, i see what you mean, but it's highly likely that we aren't going to be doing much in the way pf defending, so another game of faes and vesty playing as a back 2 just inside their half is on the cards, as such we'll probably be playing something like a 2-3-5   - i know that sounds mental, but it's not far off how we've been in some games this season - so we could play a kind of 2-1-4-3 with the 8s dropping deeper between justin and albrighton, with them having freedom to push out to rotate with the wide forwards.

But, no, i can't see it happening. I think he'll have hamza and winks in the pivot, and yunus and mcateer as the wide men.

Expecting and hoping for plenty of rest and rotation over the next few weeks. So truthfully team could be almost anything.

Vs. Sheff W
                     Hermansen

      Coady - Vestergaard - Justin

                  Hamza - Winks

 Fatawu  -  Praet  -  KDH  -  McAteer

                         Vardy

Vs. WBA

                     Hermansen

            Faes  -  Coady  -  Justin

                 Ricardo - Winks

    Yunus  -  Ndidi  -  KDH  -  Mavididi

                         Cannon

I've just looked at albrighton's activity this season and he's started all three of the league cup games as the right wing attacker: on those occasions he played alongside praet, casadei and yunus - and all three are probably due a game.

So maybe it's not so unlikely after all.
