Just going to end up hanging around until the summer isn’t he

http://sportwitness.co.uk/club-need-big-effort-get-leicester-city-man-month-needs-convincing-transfer/

A potential move for Leicester City midfielder Dennis Praet is seen as difficult for Royal Antwerp this month, despite the Foxes being willing to sell.

That’s according to La Dernière Heure, relayed by Voetbal Nieuws, who says the Belgian club would have difficulties getting a deal done.

A report earlier this week claimed that Antwerp were showing concrete interest in Praet and had already contacted Leicester to ask about a deal and his potential terms.

That report also claimed that they might have to wait until the end of the month to get a deal done as Leicester were holding out for the time being.

La Dernière Heure have now seemingly followed that up, explaining that the transfer is ‘quite complicated’ for Antwerp.

They explain that the Belgian champions are not ‘well off financially’ at this moment in time and have lost sporting boss Marc Overmars, who has been handed a suspension over inappropriate behaviour at Ajax.

That does not make transfer matters this month easy and there is also competition from Torino for the midfielder as well.

Then there is the player himself, who would reportedly rather wait until the summer, when he is a free agent and can secure more favourable terms, than move at this moment in time.

Thus, it appears Antwerp need to put a lot of effort in if they’re to get their man, with a whole lot of convincing needed for this transfer to happen at any point in the coming weeks.

Spotted arriving at Antwerp airport earlier today....

I can't tell anymore if it's us being difficult or Praet being a prat.

At this point just let him go for free he probably doesn’t want to be here we want new players and can’t until someone leaves just let him go and free up some wages for the next person to come in.

If he goes to Torino or any other Italian club then it will most likely be a loan to the end of his contract and they'll be expecting us to continue to pay part of his wages. Doubt we'll be able to give him away for nowt.

By leaving on a free he'd possibly lose money, who's going to pay him what we're paying him? Where's his incentive to leave?

Yep, particularly if he is just a sicknote and can't stay fit. Sit and collect his wages until July? 😬

At this point I’d be happy to offer him a settlement of a couple of hundred grand and get him out the club asap, he’s been nothing short of a disgraceful signing, can think of 2/3 decent games he’s had in 4 years, otherwise stinking, benched or out injured! €20m for 66 appearances in 4 and a half years… as bad a signing as any other we’ve made like Silva, slimani, musa etc etc

Why would he want to accept a 'couple of hundred grand' as you put it, would you 🤔. If you times his weekly wage between now and the end of the season would you be willing to be that much out of pocket. I'd personally want every last penny then leave on a free. It's his job, it's business, he's not a supporter.

Well because he would be free to get another wage at another club now, so he'd get a payout in addition to whatever he gets from a new club. All depends on the opportunities available at the time.

Totally agree.

One player has never lived off a single pass for so long.

Looks like Antwerp have agreed to sell Vermeeren (CM) to Atleti for €22m.

Hopefully they come in with a bid and take Dennis off our hands this window now.

We also rumoured to be interested in Mandela Keita, currently on loan to Antwerp from leuven with option to buy (I believe)  Interesting potentially …

Transfermarket suggest it’s an obligation to buy but would that mean no one else can have dibs on him or could Leuven offer to anyone?
