Popular Post indierich06 Posted 13 January 2024 Popular Post Posted 13 January 2024 A side note, but surely something's got to change with FFP? The big boys still seem able to spend with impunity due to their big commercial revenue and ability to sell fringe players for big fees, and in the meantime all the other clubs are either struggling to balance the books or stretching themselves too thin and getting punished - i.e. Everton. Then because the big teams are spending silly money on average players, they're overinflating the market, making it harder for smaller clubs to do business on the cheap. No-one wants to see clubs spending beyond their means and getting into trouble, but it seems like the current system benefits some clubs and hamstrings others - so what's the point? 16

So FFP is doing exactly what it was designed to do. Make sure the 'big' clubs continue to stay at the top with less chance of others gatecrashing the party. 10 1
KFS Posted 13 January 2024 Posted 13 January 2024 Get this done and lift the fanbase. Need a big win next week

Need a big win next week Would be ideal to get it done ASAP, wilf leaves a big hole to fill. Hopefully the quality this guy has makes up for the physical side we lose with wilf being out . When I heard wilf was out of the afcon due to injury I hoped it'd be 2 or 3 weeks and we'd have him back sooner than we would have, then delighted that Abdul missed out. Funny old game, may as well have both gone now 🤣

The point is as you described to maintain the status quo. It isnt just right at the top either. In the championship the parachute clubs have a very clear advantage now. In the EPL its the CL and historically big clubs. In the CL its those with the big coefficient payments. Debt is almost ignored, and caps are revenue based instead of fixed for competitive equality.
Tielemans63 Posted 13 January 2024 Posted 13 January 2024 We don't look too good when Ndidi is out of the side, get Big Stefano in ASAP. 4
Yuki! Posted 13 January 2024 Posted 13 January 2024 He’s on the bench for inter, but they do have about 48 subs in Serie A
lee7 Posted 13 January 2024 Posted 13 January 2024 I really hope we can get this one over the line. Casadei for me just doesn't move the ball quick enough. Wilf is a massive miss whilst he is out of the side.

The biggest clubs also have a massive advantage in terms of commercial revenue as well. Look at Man Utd, achieved nothing for over a decade now, play shit football, appalling transfer record, win no trophies. What do Adidas do? Give them almost a BILLION pounds over a decade. https://www.reuters.com/business/retail-consumer/manchester-united-renews-adidas-partnership-another-10-years-2023-07-31/ Where is a club like us getting that kind of cash? The more FFP takes hold, the more it might as well not be a competition for playing football, and they just rename the Prem to the "FA Trophy for the club with the most glory hunting twat fans who get the most about of slurping on Sky Sports Award for excellence in covering their ground with sponsors". 10 2

Claudio Fannieri Posted 14 January 2024 Posted 14 January 2024 FFP was introduced to protect the interests of the big 6 and extend the competitive advantage they have over the rest, whilst everyone lauds our title win, in reality within the game, it rocked the big 6 and powers of the game to the core and it wasn’t long afterwards this was introduced to stop clubs like us disrupting the big 6. We have already seen its impact on ourselves, Everton & Wolves, whilst Forest look likely to fall foul very soon and the rumours are that Newcastle have to sell before they can buy, You can already predict that Villa and Brighton will be the next to hit the glass ceiling imposed by the authorities via FFP. I am so glad it was us that achieved the miracle because i honestly believe it too be the greatest ever sporting miracle it was also the event that changed the landscape of football and will become impossible to ever replicate again. 1

Would get us over the line this year and solid squad player next. Would easily get 10 goals for us between now and end of season

Disagree, I have seen him quite a few times and he is a very talented and clever player, who would thrive in our system and would make us undoubtedly better. Yeah he might be a bit of a helmet and plays for our rivals but taking my blue tinted goggles off he is the best player in a very good team. Would have here in a heartbeat 1
