Don’t think the championship is that bad to be honest, I thought it would be worse. We’ve done incredibly well to be in this position. We could well lose to Leeds next week but we are so much better than every other team in the championship. We don’t need to panic yet.

Couldn’t believe it when I saw that. Why in 2024 would middle aged women call people monkeys. Truly shocking

What's even more shocking is thinking you can get away with that kind of behaviour in this day and age when everybody has a camera/video recorder in their pockets. Imagine not thinking you're going to get banned/arrested/sacked from work etc.

I think the manager is a very good one but I also think he would be better suited to better team in the EPL . To me he is a one trick coach refuses to change his ways even when his way is not working , players are always looking to go backwards as there 1st option, and the players have problems finding passes to players in the last third maybe he needs to put more effort into attacking and a little less going backwards .

You probably need to read the Percy interview with the Telegraph. I'd say our goal tally this season would prove you wrong on your attacking points.

What a bizarre game, we absolutely dominated but for some reason, our passing. movement and decision making  was miles off the standards we have set.

Despite being off our levels, we still managed to miss 4 absolute sitters. As for Middlesboro they were absolutely awful, literally just hoofed it forward and hoped for the best, and on two occasions we defended poorly and gifted them the goals, after that they completely shithoused their way to a victory, any sustained quality from us at any stage of the game and we would have won by 5 or 6.

i had no issues at all with the subs today, KDH, Mavididi and Fatawu were all shockingly poor and guilty of giving ball away on countless occasions, hopefully a bit of a kick up the arse before Friday.

special mention to the referee who managed to look like he had won a competition to referee a professional football match, one of the most weak, embarrassing and inept officiating I have witnessed for some time. I bet he had posters of Michael Carrick on his bedroom wall as a kid.

Hopefully this will have hurt everyone and fire up a suitable reaction on Friday.

Cant think the last time I  saw a game when neither keeper made a noteworthy save  I  may be contradicted  but the 3 goals were the only shots on target the one from Cannon   would   not have gone in

So boring that we're top scorers in the league and have created 13 more big chances than any other team in the league? In fact, we've already created more big chances than last season's champions, Burnley managed in 46 games last season.

If we lose at Leeds we will have lost twice as many as Burnley with 12 matches to go

So what, so long as we go up. We're almost certainly ahead of where they were at the same point last season.

Assuming they drew. Alot. Checked, yes 14 times.

FM looking back we missed 4 sitters

Just one of those days - they played well and we missed our chances it's as simple as that

Forward and onwards to Dirty Leeds.

We really need to stand up and be counted for this one and show the whole division we are the best team in the league

Over the game, we were the better side.  For much of the game that was irrelevant as we were 2-0 down.   We started well.  From the start, it was clear that Middlesbrough are a well organised, well coached side.   Their movement in possession was such that we were talking about how potentially dangerous they were from about the second minute.   Their movement off the ball was energetic and they had players with pace.   At 1-0, our negligent throw-in saw them use that pace and movement incisively.    When we were chasing the game, I thought there was a good chance they would score again.

I thought we recovered really well.  Vardy and Vestergaard missing chances made it seem inevitable we weren't coming back.  That said, I couldn't believe people were leaving with ten minutes to go- do some people not now how much can happen at the end of a match?

It was fantastic to see Vardy roll back the years,  get ahead of their defence, and finish.   The last few minutes were some of the most engaging football I've seen for a while.

Losing was tough but I enjoyed what I saw as an intriguing game of football.

Proper disgusting.

The fact that she looks at the young kids for some kind of approval is utterly depressing.

The  main point is how bad they are doing in the Premier   and personally  although  ridiculous  I   wouldnt fancy the   chances of a side that won 30 and lost 16  although that would almost certainly get promotion  as opposed to a side who   won 25 drew 15  lost 6  People seem to forget when we won the premier we  only lost 3  and remarks like you must expect to lose matches dont match comments we are too good for the league

if you mean percentage of play…. We won the league with  less that 40%  possession so that means nothing. Shots also mean nothing if you don’t get them on target. Both teams had 2 on target each. Even then, that doesn’t mean a thing if you don’t score.

Yeah short memories, crazy how many of our fans keep looking at possession as some kind of god metric, its a stat easy to pad without being threatening.

Possession wasn't mentioned. It's you and MPH that interpreted it this way. Quite why you seem to think 'many' fans are obsessed by it, leads me to think it's your own bias playing tricks.

But I'll play along and suggest that just because we have achieved great success with a counterattacking style in the past, doesn't infer that this style would be successful in today's football or fits our current players' abilities.

From reading the stats (and from watching the game), it's surprising that we lost. We created better and more numerous chances despite a below average performance, which suggests we were more likely to win than lose.

No but we missed two sitters in the first twenty minutes. The stats from the game suggest we battered them.

Yes, but the post didn't mention possession specifically. The xG, attempted shots, blocked shots, corners, big chances, clearances etc all shot maps, POSSESSION, passes made, passing accuracy, long passes, throw ins, heat maps and so on all paint a pretty clear picture: we dominated the game but were wasteful in front of goal where they in turn were very clinical.

I only checked his post, not everything he was replying to.  So dont know if he himself misinterpreted an earlier part of discussion.

I think his point is valid on stats can be misleading, I did watch the game live, I felt first half they had us under control, and had a game plan they executed well.

Second half they were happy to sit back and we tried to recover the game, but we couldnt overcome them to get the two goals needed.  We did have a few good chances, I think maybe 3 that I remember, but it took a while for them to come, a lot of it was struggling to penetrate their defences.

Exactly, it mentioned game stats, not possession per se. Yet you started guessing and picking apart his argument suggesting possession doesn't mean a thing, or that shots that aren't on target don't mean a thing. It's a bit of a lazy way to go about it akin to saying the only thing that matters is the result and not the context, which I find issue with.

lol You daft lad

so if I say “ I love my children”  and my son says “ but dad you didn’t mention me specifically”  he’d be wrong because I did mention my children and he’s one of them.

of course my son in included when I say ‘ my children’

im sorry but it’s crazy I even have to explain that.  When someone says stats  possession is one of them and can be talked about .No laziness no jumping to conclusions at all
