2 managers who try to complicate football. We've switched our 8s, they've left Armstrong high left to counter Ricardo inverting but that's almost just stopped him going inside and actually made us better.

The worry is that the starting XI will burn themselves out with this high press and Maresca won't trust his bench and bring on fresh legs. It's what happened v Ipswich at home where we ended up getting deeper and deeper after McKenna freshened his team up with numerous subs before we conceded the late equaliser.

Ndidi hasn't been great as the 8, but he is providing some combativeness still. He just doesn't seem to have the mobility he once did.

We are many levels above Southampton yet still we have glaring mishaps in the final third.

 

Some better decision making up top with the right pass and ball and we can put these to the sword.

 

However, Southampton won't be as bad as that second half. We need to come out of the blocks early in the second half and put the game beyond them.
