If Percy's article earlier this year is correct and he's the player on £70k a week in the Championship then I don't see Rangers paying that. So we'd have to subsidise his final year, as well as get at least £2.5m in transfer fee not to be worse off.

New ownership at Rangers are willing to pump money in they have stated they will spend decent money.

Still don't see them paying out wages of £70k a week.

Hasn’t he got one year left with us? Surely a £50k per week 3yr contract now is better than letting his year run down with us with the risk of then no-one coming in for him?

He'll play the game and expect to be subsidised by us. Our track record of selling players with a year left is absolutely abysmal.

Book value of approx £2-3m. Will Rangers pay that much? Might have to accept a small loss, to get the wages gone, but we can't do that with everyone...

This is last seasons transfers, so £2-3m doesn't look to be an issue.

Were any of them 32 and with 1 year left on their deal though?

Proper was 30, 31 the next month after he signed.  He also hasn't played 250 times in the prem, or have full international caps.

The point I was making is that Rangers are willing to spend a little bit of money if they need to.

His reputation as a leader hasn't taken a hit with our relegation. Together with that and his PL experience, I reckon we'd get about 5M for him. Relegation clause means his 70k/week salary is probably much lower too.

Dont understand why not, we have progressed from mud huts and actually have proper houses with windows and heating, as well as tv and broadband. Not to mention the stunning scenery, but wont mention the midges

The bloke has 4 kids and is a massive family man. There’s no chance he moves his kids out of school etc, not to mention one of his lads has recently signed for Preston’s academy.

Preston to Glasgow is 3 hours, plenty of nice places to live in between.

Agreed but the commute North to Scotland is a lot easier than the commute south, I think this could happen and Coady would travel/stay in Scotland whilst his family stay in NW which is pretty much what he is doing now with us, he commutes/stays in Leicester whilst his family are in NW.

Unfortunately I think they're only offering 10k, a crate of McEwans lager and a deep fried Mars bar deal. Probably a fair amount now. Its a bit like going to Saudi but without the money.

I cant see him taking that with just a deep fries mars bar, think they also need to offer Cullen skink, haggis and cranachan
