Popular Post Saxondale Posted 19 June 2024 Popular Post Posted 19 June 2024 I’ve been hoping for Pottertime for years. He’s always just seemed like a good fit for us as a club. 6

He’s done well for them but he’s not really done anything, he took over as a manager aiming for the playoffs and he’s done basically exactly what is expected of him, but he royally buggered the playoffs and was totally outclassed by an average side. I just don’t get it. You could name any manager with top flight experience as a stick to beat with but the fact is this bloke doesn’t have top flight experience and a manager who does (I could just as easily and daftly counter the Bruce argument with a Wenger or Pep argument), and certainly one who’s been successful enough to warrant a shot at the poisoned chalice that is Chelsea, will be better suited to us than someone who has taken a team who should have been aiming for the top 6 get them to the top 6 then fall flat on his face. I just think Potter has something to prove and is better tactically and has better experience. That's where the confusion is then. Corberan didnt take over as a manager who was expected to reach the playoffs, he took over when West Brom were in the relegation zone. That's why he's so highly rated, West Brom were seriously mismanaged after being relegated from the PL and were looking down the barrel of a second relegation when he came in.  Compared to the other teams in the playoffs, West Brom's squad are by far the worst in my opinion. It's like if Fulham managed to get into an FA cup semi final with Man City, just because they are there doesnt mean they have an equal chance to win and it's an achievement for them to even get there. The only reason they're in contention for promotion and not near the bottom of the table is Corberan and most West Brom fans would agree.  It's not like it's a fluke either, Corberan took over a Huddersfiels side that had just survived relegation to league 1 and took them to the playoffs. Since he left they have returned to championship mediocrity again. 9

I’d imagine salary would have been one of the first things they discuss … however, it is Rudkin …

They are fuching nuts.  All the interviews with their supporters before this game they've all said the same thing ....... 'I think we'll come racing out of the blocks' ......... 'I think you'll see a different Scotland'.  They are a bunch of loonies - Likeable but bloody lunatics as a football nation Â

Ric Flair Posted 19 June 2024 Posted 19 June 2024 I hope he's spent the last year studying how to improve his teams ability to score goals.  I personally think 3 at the back can stunt goalscoring if you haven't got the right blend of players attacking the box.  4

jv1 Posted 19 June 2024 Posted 19 June 2024 Probably the best part of this has to be that they have agreed to back him financially-  no way on earth he was ever taking this job without £50m plus on transfers being guaranteed- if he has said yes which it now seems is the case then it’s great news in that regardÂ
