Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 23 May 2024 Popular Post Posted 23 May 2024 Ticks a lot of boxes in that he focuses on squad strengths rather than his one singular way of playing. He's had to work in fairly dire circumstances at times and tends to fair well. I like him but there's also some question marks. 8
moore_94 Posted 23 May 2024 Posted 23 May 2024 Has done really well at both Huddersfield and West Brom whilst having basically nothing to spend at both, also had to keep things going whilst West Brom were having proper financial issues before their takeover earlier this year I would be alright with it if we brought him in 3

fleshdaddy Posted 23 May 2024 Posted 23 May 2024 No, thanks. Thought tactically WBA were really poor in the playoffs. I think (hope) we could do better. 4

Any manager who takes the Leicester job is doing so without knowing how much money there’ll be, and what points deduction we’ll start with. It’s a great job because it’s PL and good owners, but it’s a gamble. 4
Hitesh Posted 24 May 2024 Posted 24 May 2024 I'd take him, and worthwhile sticking with him in the event we go down too. 2
Sunbury Fox Posted 24 May 2024 Posted 24 May 2024 It's a 'yes' from me too. Seems like an excellent tactician who moulds the style of play/ system around the strengths of the players he has at his disposal. Looks to be his at in games management too.

Apart from Premiership football we're not currently an attractive proposition. Possible points deduction on the horizon and little or no money to spend isn't exactly a magnetic for the sort of manager that we'd like to have. Just as the Chelsea job, with their owners and faceless pseudo experts dictating player recruitment will ensure that they won't be able to attract a top class manager, so will our different set of circumstances. Same meat, different gravy.
Popular Post Finnegan Posted 24 May 2024 Popular Post Posted 24 May 2024 If Enzo goes, one of the main reasons is that we're in very poor financial shape. If that's the case, we aren't getting anyone exciting. People will be happier if they embrace that now. 7 1
Haywood_6 Posted 24 May 2024 Posted 24 May 2024 I like him, seems to be able to do a job in difficult circumstances, and that's what we need 1
wokinghamfox Posted 24 May 2024 Posted 24 May 2024 Anybody who comes and is up for a fight is ok with me. 2

Someone that knows the division, can steady the ship by keeping the basics right and will go if we are relegated in replace for someone that we can build around like Enzo. 2
Popular Post StriderHiryu Posted 24 May 2024 Popular Post Posted 24 May 2024 He's a very good manager. There are major question marks but he has performed well at teams with very few resources. He's due a job with better resources at their disposal. We'll be hampered by PSR this season but still have a good squad. If we went down, someone like him in charge would get us back pretty quickly I think too. My preferred choice would be Cuesta of Arsenal, even though he's just 28 years old. But Corberan is the way more sensible choice. He's still just 41 and has a combination of experience, excitement (worked under Bielsa) and proven ability. He'd also likely be relatively cheap to hire too. I think my order of coaches I would like to see that are realistic in order would probably be something like: Cuesta Corberan Robins Rohl Still Rosenior The only person I would not want to see at all would be Moyes. West Ham were painful to watch. 5 1
Stadt Posted 24 May 2024 Posted 24 May 2024 West Brom's squad is naff so to drag them into the play offs is an achievement in itself. He does well in adversity which is what we need - he has pragmatic streak that Enzo just doesn't.

I mean it'll be nothing to do with the money Chelsea would offer him and the almost unlimited transfer budget as they will always find a way around PSR.

Yeah sure but I do genuinely believe that if the club were in a completely healthy and stable place, he'd stick around to see a season in the Prem with us.

Players on loan like Mikey Johnstone cost a fair bit on the wages. But that said their squad is a joke compared to Coventry and Hull and they outperformed them. Their strike Dike has also been out for ages, then came back and got injured again. So they were competitive despite having one of their best players unavailable. 1

The wage bill is downstream of dysfunction rather than being well resourced, if that makes sense. I’d almost feel a bit sorry for Corberan if he arrived here, just leaving one messy job for the next. 1
