Claridge Posted 28 May 2024 Posted 28 May 2024 Sadly I can't see him coming now, would have a choice of loads of clubs for the fee required. Unless he has already signed a preliminary contract? 1
An Away Move Posted 28 May 2024 Posted 28 May 2024 Obligation to buy, no? That’ll be with the club. Not Maresca. 4

He isn't the first player to be on the cusp of permanently signing for a team who've had a change in manager. This is where his fellow team mates will be on hand to chat amongst themselves and put everyone at ease. The show goes on. He'll be in the Premier League where most players want to be and we'll no doubt pay him very well, we always do. 6
Fox92 Posted 28 May 2024 Posted 28 May 2024 (edited) Why wouldn't he come? Not the first time we've wanted a loan player and then the manager has left. Edited 28 May 2024 by Fox92 1
Claridge Posted 28 May 2024 Author Posted 28 May 2024 Surely the obligation is with the selling club with regards to the fee, not the player, he can turn us down if he doesn't want to come. Otherwise we could offer him £10 a week 1

winnie the blue Posted 28 May 2024 Posted 28 May 2024 Im sure the fee for his perm signing will have been included in the loan agreement. 1

Otherwise we could offer him £10 a week Contract would be agreed last summer. The clause then activated upon the conditions being met (in this case promotion). What you're talking about is an option to buy. That would be agreeing a set price that can be activated at any time by the loaning club but then you still have to agree terms with the loanee. We had one on Yunus but chose not to activate.

For Fuchs sake, I'm sure I'm forgetting about somebody...
Pliskin Posted 28 May 2024 Posted 28 May 2024 You do realise it’s the club that have an obligation to buy, not Enzo Maresca…… 1

Sly Posted 28 May 2024 Posted 28 May 2024 Spelling mistakes galore in that as well. I can’t multi task and look interested in my work conference I’m sat on at the same time. 1
SouthStandUpperTier Posted 28 May 2024 Posted 28 May 2024 There's nothing to stop Chelsea coming in with a huge bid immediately after we've signed him. Could be the quickest profit we've ever made. Not that I think Chelsea will though. They've got young wingers coming out of their arse.
Corky Posted 28 May 2024 Posted 28 May 2024 He should still sign. We can't have it both ways, though- either the manager isn't significant and anyone can do it or so important that players won't join if he isn't here.
Sly Posted 28 May 2024 Posted 28 May 2024 We will still sign him. It will be interesting how he fares and on paper whilst he’s done really well in the Championship. The Premier League is another level. Chelsea have players already that you’d expect to post similar numbers in that league.
