It's a pity football does not have a rule where you can take some knackered players off and put new players on. We could call it something like "substitutions".

I can understand Kanes frustration but as the main striker you shouldn't go looking for the ball, you wait for the ball to come to you. Your job is not to run around the pitch but to wait patiently for a chance to score. Yes get involved in the game. If you do nothing all game but score a goal that gets us through the only thing people will remember is you scored to get us through!.

They’ve tweaked - at times in that first half they had 6/7 players in a line across the back and were so deep they couldn’t keep hold of the ball.

 

They’re engaging higher and getting more of the ball - and growing back into the game as part of that.
