Big credit gained for the fact we've comeback and won.

 

But once again we've set up poorly, played woefully and been bossed off the park in the first half

Credit to him for the second half comeback but it was surely a no-brainer to start Fatawu today, a player Southampton have shown they cannot cope with. I said as much before kick off. Fair play to him for the second half but Southampton imploded

Not sure why we still had Ndidi on the pitch in the end. We were tactically poor with Ndidi on with Skipp. Skipp struggled with Ndidi as his partner. When Fatawu came on he widened the pitch and changed the game. Once we had an extra man Ndidi’s weaknesses were overshadowed, but this game really shows that we need to:

- start Winks with Skipp (and drop Ndidi please)

- start Fatawu and Mavididi as wingers to stretch the pitch

- have more of our attacking players on the pitch as they naturally push the game up the pitch

The league is crazy because even now sitting in 13th if you look up the table there are only 2 teams you think right there are games to target all 3pts in Forest and Brentford after that I think we would be happy to take a point and not take a drubbing…I’m saying that not in a defeatist way but a reality of where we have come from.

This season is going to be a battle to the end and I’d take a few shithouse wins to keep us away from any 3 teams right now.

 

ps Wins breed confidence maybe just maybe we might see a decent 90mins coming :dunno:

I think it's fair to acknowledge that some on here post nonsense for the sake of just not liking him, others put forward well constructed views on him. Largely the negativity seems to take over, but there's some on here I agree with despite myself thinking he deserves more time.

Thought we did alright tbf. 

 

We went to a desperate Southampton side, they were hardly just going to roll over. Second half we looked decent and caused them plenty of problems. I swear some people won't be happy until we steam-roll every single team in the division from minute one for the entire 90 mins and I'm sure even then they'd find something to moan about. 

 

Also, team spirit looks good and if we manage to keep that up then that's worth points on the board all day long. 

 

Hopefully Cooper learns a few more things from this game and now the away win monkey is off the back we can go on to get a few more.

Only way Cooper will earn even the slightest bit of respect is if he proves he's learnt something from today. Drop Justin, bring in Fatawu and Ricardo. It's really not rocket science.

That would be terribly non attacking, as neither Skipp nor Winks are particularly attack minded. At least Wilf finds himself in the box on occasion.

One thing I have learnt about FT is not to listen to what people say about players been dropped and team selection, there tends to be a obsession with any mistake made and not really thinking about the overall performances for the full game, Justin has been fine.

 

Countless games where player does alright, but makes a mistake for a goal or something and suddenly everyone on FT is an expert wanting that player dropped.

Great win - feels a long time since we’ve been on the right side of a game like that.

 

Do I still want Cooper out? On balance, yes. Largely because I think he was the wrong appointment to start off with, but also today I thought we were tactically poor for most of the game. Credit where it’s due that we did get over the line, but it still doesn’t feel like the manager has advanced his credentials on the back of that game.

 

I’m not one to want him out at any costs. Six points from two games is huge in the Premier League. If we were to beat Forest then this would suddenly look like a good start to the season (expectations in mind). If Cooper maintains a position similar to where we are now then I wouldn’t expect the club to act. Just this win today will probably see him through to Christmas
