We've got Ipswich, Southampton, and Wolves all towards the back end of the season. Goal until then is to stay in the fight. While we aren't cut adrift, there is always hope.

I still can't believe Cunha situation allowed to drift. I wonder how the bloke he assaulted feels watching him revel in celebrations. If Cunha had simply told the ref to FO at the end of the match he would have been red carded and banned for next match

The issue is it's a Misconduct charge, not a Violent Conduct incident. So that obviously takes longer to sort out as with Bentacur and Gibbs-White previously.

It wasn't over when we were bottom of the table at Christmas 2014 or still 7 points adrift in March. We're one point off Wolves. It's not even the mid point of the season. It's far from over.

This. We've had a couple of good games and look a lot calmer and composed as a team defensively, but we've still got a tough run of fixtures coming up and we'll no doubt lose Cunha for 5 games or so (like Kudus got). Hopefully from our pov one of those will be the FA Cup so he will miss one less league game. All depends how quickly the FA get their fingers out really.

You have to remember that we're only just coming up to the halfway point of the season and a lot of things can change in that time with injuries, suspensions and manager changes.

We were a well ran club back then, with a functioning player recruitment process. Those days are long gone.

Should have been violent conduct incident so wrong charge laid by the twerps in charge.  Anyway Leicester's problems not caused by Wolves so our own fault if we can't get out of bottom three. Would just prefer the game to be run professionally

You will pull away now. Clearly a change in manager did the trick and the quality in the squad is there. Everton and Palace are picking up points regularly (even if it is from draws) so it is clear after this week that it will be the 3 promoted sides that drop again just due to the gulf in quality.

Hopefully that isn’t the case next season whoever comes up as three years in a row will really reflect poorly on the competitiveness of the league.

In other news. Really enjoyed the Amazon coverage yesterday

I did apart from Townsend's fawning over Liverpool and failure to call out the referees bias.

Attacking wise definitely but can be caught out in defence.

Yep, they dont have to do much defending, because of how good the forward/midfield players are.  Obviously really well coached as well.

How is it that we play Thursday night and first on Sunday.

But Brentford and Arsenal can play tonight and then Wednesday?!

TV is king. Three years in a row we played on the 26th and 28th which I don't believe another team did.

It is a lottery at this time of year.

I thought there were new rules to give enough time between matches. Something like 72 hrs between start of one game and start of another. In which case we shouldn't be playing until Sunday evening at the latest.

No doubt the higher-ups at our club just bent over instead of fighting against the move.

Palace and Everton can get dragged into this as well

That derby win is keeping Man United out of it. They have Newcastle and Liverpool in the next two.

needs to be at least 48 hours. 72 would mean any Europa league teams (playing on Thursday) couldn't play the following weekend

Needs to be 48 hours but the premier league stated they would extend that to 60 hours for the Xmas period, think ours is 64 hours between kick offs, we have the shortest turnaround between games

I'd say that it's likely to be the three promoted sides going straight back down, but it really wouldn't take much for everything to change. A shock win here and there for us and Ipswich, Wolves losing Cunha for a few games and going into a tailspin (don't forget how well we did in our first two under RVN,) goals drying up for Everton or Palace never really getting out of it.

There are variables. One of those is how much we spend, and how well, in January.

Just last week the resident Wolves fan on this forum @The Bear was telling us how they were gone already. Look how that has changed.

This is a relegation fight and there are going to be plenty of twist and turns. We just need to stay in it. We’ll hit form and so we will everyone else and we’ll also be dire. It was always going to be a horrible season. Let’s hope there’s some cheer at the end of it. The biggest relegation fight in my time supporting Leicester as I think we are gone for years if we finish on the wrong side this time.

There Xpts painted another picture it was clear they were underperforming/ unlucky at that time and had them in 17th. At the time people were spouting “Wolves are done”, “a new manager won’t change anything”.

“We are in a much better position them”. Statistically we are bang in trouble, if the defensive personal don’t change or there isn’t some major tactical defensive tweak we will be getting relegated.

I don't know about underperforming. We were averaging almost 3 goals conceded per game.

pretty sure Brentford have faced more shots than us this season now, i wonder if some know that

but theyve got a knack for scoring, wissa scores but looked offside
