Nobody expected them to be top half, never mind challenge for CL places. Some pundits (e.g. Gary Neville) even predicted them to be relegated.

I hate Forest as much as the next guy but if they keep doing well, they’ll get loads of plaudits and exposure whether we like it or not.

Compared to the greedy 6, they’re an underdog like the rest of us.

They've spent enough to be top half, they were likely having got a decent manager in, going to compete at that end of the table. Obviously punching above their weight being this high though

It’s astonishing how bad Manchester United are.

I was there when it was first vs second away at Man city , we spanked them.  forest scraped that draw , they defend well and are great on the break but i can see them finishing double didgets behind Liverpool in the end

That was the litmus test for me. I fully expected us to get tonked 4-0 and our expectations to have to be managed, but battering them the way we did made it clear we could do it.

I'm not sure Forest fans (the ones who aren't completely deluded at least) will be walking away from tonight's game thinking that they've outplayed a title rival.

Equally getting tonked 4-0 by Liverpool under Rodgers told us we weren’t competing that season

And Forest have had a couple of those this season. Big defeats to Manchester City, Newcastle and Arsenal. Played off the park tonight. They're a loss of form away from falling out of the top four.

Was going to say.

MGW cost more than our team.

Did he?

Hermansen £6m Faes £15m, Coady £8m, Justin £8m, Kristiansen £17m….

I'm talking about our 15-16 team.

Ah. Yes it’s not like that at all, but very different times.

worth remembering although they have spent a fair chunk, they started from a base of pretty much nothing. Ipswich have spent the same as they did in their first season.

I don’t like to see it, but it is pretty remarkable what they are doing so far.

I mean the 15-16 team. It just makes the whole 'Forest are the new Leicester fairytale story' look silly.

If Forest were doing a Leicester they would have won today making a statement to the league and give Liverpool the wobbles.

Liverpool fans not happy with Forest's tactics it seems.

Well they still got a point..

Maybe they need to realise that no one cares what them whiney arseholes think.

It was really only wasteful play from Liverpool and a superb display from Sels that saved them from a pasting.

Using the magic of predictions and my own brain farts, I got the following.

1. Liverpool

2. Arsenal

3. Chelsea

4. Manchester City

5. Newcastle

6. Aston Villa

7. Notts Forest

I got us staying up on 33 points, a point ahead of Everton and then a small gap to Ipswich and a bigger one to Southampton.

I've got us going down on GD on 32 points.

Really don't see Everton going down

I can see the Moyes appointment going either way to be honest, depending on which Moyes they get. If they get West Ham Moyes, they'll be boring but fine. If they get Sunderland Moyes, they drop.

If it comes down to GD, we're dropping. Simple as that.

How many points did you have Liverpool finishing on?

I was too focused on us!

I think early 90s.

That's my final table although I couldn't find the Liverpool Everton game but I've got Liverpool winning it anyway. Think I might be overrating Newcastle slightly lol

I got them on 83 last night and that was an ultra conservative view so it’s impossible not to see them winning it. 80 would easily be enough.
