They also spent a lot on others. Was it 17 players in the end? It was basically throw shit at the wall and see what sticks.

It’s worked short term for them and probably long term if they get Champions League too. They also have to get rid of a lot of deadwood that didn’t stick too eventually.

Was an interesting listen with Albrighton before the game. He drew the comparisons which clearly everyone disagrees with 🤣 but he was being quizzed on how the group that won the league took to new players coming in on big money purely because we were Champions, who’d never have signed for us if we weren’t. (I took him to be referring to Slimani)

Worth a listen if you can be bothered

Brighton clinging on to Forest just.

If top 5 do make the Champions league we need Newcastle or a Brighton/Bournemouth  to keep the pressure on on Forest.

Its my only hope in what has easily become the worst season I can remember in 30+ years in terms of the state of our club, how far we’ve fallen and our locals doing the business

Bottom 3 are going back down. All 3 are shit.

When I look at what you consider a winnable game, there’s only really 5 games for the promoted 3.

The gap is staggering. But without the opposition not really performing or huge luck, there’s just too much difference in quality to have a real chance.

In an ordinary season it wouldn’t have even been this close, wolves have just been awful and any other year (before last year) would comfortably go down themselves

I thought the good folk on here suggested Brighton would fade and achieved little. Now 1 point off the Champions League spots

They'll be back when they lose a game don't worry, the bitterness towards them being well run by some is hilarious

They got promoted from nowhere on the back of some decent loan players and Brennan Johnson coming through. I think they only had 7 players under contract after getting promoted. They had to get loads in and it was hit and miss (spent similar to Ipswich have) but since then they seems to have calmed down and seem to have a sensible transfer policy that we could only dream of. (Or they’ve got lucky with them, maybe a bit of both).

it’s not like our league winning side, far from it. But I doubt forest fans really care.

Personally, I have no issue with Brighton, but well run or not, what have they actually achieved so far? Not won anything and never been higher than 6th in any PL season. Maybe that will change this season, but hard to see them getting anywhere near what we have achieved over the last decade.

Careful mate.

There are holy edicts on this thread, and to question them is blasphemy.

1) Nottingham Forest are a superb footballing side.

2) Brighton and Hove Albion are the best run club in the history of football.

3) Wolverhampton Wanderers are permanently on the verge of a 10-game winning streak.

Man C need to stop playing the kids

Joking aside they have had a terrible season for them and they will be hurting with how much they have fallen behind Liverpool..so what will they do??

They spent an unprecedented £180m in a winter window, can only imagine it will be double that in the summer + they will have players like Rodri back, whilst it was great O’Reilly got a game the other day I’m not sure how many of these lads will play in the league or big games next season.

I imagine the majority of those top 6/7 clubs will be buying big in summer just like they did after our season win because they have been shown up again and we know they don’t like that!

Looks likely that:

Liverpool beat us at ours to win the league

Forest beat us at theirs to get Champions League and relegate us

Cov get promoted

What a shite season it is, sack em all

If someone said to me at Christmas, you will not be playing Cov or Derby next season I would be thinking great, we stay up.

Alas, not.

I'm not saying they've achieved anything, but I tell you what though it's almost a certainty they won't find themselves in the mess we're currently in. Pople criticise how our club is run now, but seem fine to throw out we've won x y and z whilst they've only been well run, when they want to criticise Brighton
