The attitude from the top is shocking.

Liverpool fans booing Trent

Arteta pulling the "I'd have won on a different day" card

Forest owner on the pitch

When you're in danger of making Newcastle not look a complete dodgy shambles then you know you've lost it. Half glad to be leaving this league.

It's mad that over 40 points might not be enough to keep you up this season.

Goes with the territory of how the league has panned out though doesn't it. 3 shit teams means average teams have picked up wins against them. Throw in all the defeats Man Utd and Spurs have had as well then it's naturally going to look inflated.

With our owner that sits laughing in the stands the day we’re relegated.

People in glass houses and all that …

He is such a loser

it just shows that it has been such a poor season overall, Arsenal are still 3 points off what they got when they finished second to us and that’s with 4 of the “top 6” currently in the top 5 positions

Liverpool can get a maximum of 89 points this season and that would have only won them 1 title in the last 8 years

I think the midtable sides are just good now it’s completely compressed the league (less the bottom 3). Palace, Fulham, Brentford, Bournemouth are genuinely good teams and they’re just closer to the top rather than the big sides are worse necessarily

Liverpool fans have every right to boo Trent.

He's whittled his contract down over the last 24 months to ensure Liverpool don't get a penny for him. He's their vice captain ffs. He knows what he's done.

one good season and some forest fans have some massive egos

making it sound like theyve been the best team in the east midlands for the last 30 years or something

I honestly think next season will be a rude awakening; theyve not got the squad depth at all

Owner who has meant to have stepped away from the club. Kieran Maguire pointed this out on twitter.... I am expecting the sort of ban our pitch invader will get!

I don’t think he’s done it purposely to ensure they don’t get a penny for them. I do believe he’s probably had some poor advice, with his reps full well knowing Madrid’s interest in him.

I also don’t think the boos are because he’s leaving on a free, it’s because he’s “one of their own” and they fully thought he’d be a one club man.

God forbid a footballer makes an individual choice. He owes that club and those fans nothing. He's repaid the investment in him time and time again with good performances and trophies.

If he was performing badly both the club and fans would turn their back on him instantly. So frankly football fans can swivel if they think a player owes them something. It's not even like he's downed tools.

And what about Liverpool's role in this? The club that had the chance to get some money in January and turned it down? Is that TAA's fault too?

Liverpool fans are stunning hypocrites, but that's nothing new.

No they don't.

He's given them 20 years of playing since youth, a local lad, perhaps the club ought to have put a better contract in place earlier. He's won everything with them, who would begrudge the lad some time at one of the worlds biggest clubs, to challenge himself in a different league.

Its classic scouse mentality like the whole 'grass' thing, you have people on the estates there protecting local drug gangs who murder kids otherwise they are called 'grass' and hounded out of the city. ****ing weird place! Yet they all claim to be salt of the earth.

Like he’s the only player to not sign a new contract!

He didn’t cost them anything, he’s given them years of service and helped them win the lot. Their supporters attitude towards him is terrible.

They could have sold him before now to get a fee for him.

As someone else has said, they are booing him out of bitterness that he is leaving as they can’t believe anyone would want to leave them.

If Real Madrid offered £100m and Liverpool accepted it then it wouldn't have been on him.

He chose to run his contract down. Every player is entitled to do that.

But the Liverpool fans have every right to be pissed off.

You say that they could have sold him, but Trent has made up his mind years ago. That's the point. Real Madrid have said they've wanted him but didn't want to pay for him so he's run his contract down to get there. Real Madrid paying money was never an option.

It's not his fault that didn't happen though is it? If he'd turned down moves to run his contract down I'd understand it.

Yeah I get that, but they have an unbelievable pull, and have pulled these transfers off time and time again, just last year with Mbappe.

They’ll almost certainly have been in his advisors ears saying they’ll get x amount if they can get him on a free.

So Liverpool fans have every right to voice their discontent.

You can't have it both ways. He's lapped it all up with the "Scouser in our team" chants, kissing the badge, his celebration against us the other week etc only to have spent the last 2 years plotting his escape.

It didn't happen because Trent's team has been in bed with Real Madrid for the last 2 years ensuring that it didn't happen. That's the point.

Admittedly that can be a trick of Real’s given they know what a draw they are. I think they did the same with Mbappe as well.

We know it is annoying when assets leave for free. We saw it with Tielemans who we paid big money for by our standards.

It is annoying but they are being over reactive in my view. Maybe it’s just hypocritical of them given they bang on about ‘you’ll never walk alone’. I suppose with the view you are highlighting, you’d probably say TAA broke this but yeah.

YNWA is null and void when you go out of your way to **** Liverpool FC over.

My dad was from Wallasey and even though he lived in a street around half a mile from the Mersey people from Liverpool used to say he wasn't from the area?

He would get hate whether he said he wanted to leave earlier or saw out his contract.

The world of contracts and loyalty isn't what it used to be.

Deal with it. Yes, it can suck for fans but they will replace him and forget all about it.

He’s honoured his contract, won everything there is to win in club football and going to join the biggest club in the world. He should be going with a great send off from the club & fans.

Have Liverpool paid us for Trey Nyoni yet anyway???
