Depends just how bad we are going to be. Wages probably wouldn't be too bad either.  I think the manager is a big reason not to come though.

if we don’t agree a fee quickly then expect someone else to come in and gazump us.  I don’t recall us agreeing deals in the past where we were bidding well below what the selling club wanted. We usually go up in increments of  half a million over a period of three weeks …

 

Would this be (at least) the third deal this window where we’ve done the legwork for someone else to buy a player ??

Our first question to any prospective signing should be: “Do you actually want to join us?”And if they say yes, we should immediately reject them for lacking ambition.

I just don't agree with this. I feel something similar about people getting hysterical about no manager wanting to join. 

 

If you're not in the Premier League, you've usually got a lot to gain by being in the Premier League. 

 

For a start, the wages are ridiculous. For seconds, the exposure is great and if the perception of Leicester is that we're a dumpster fire then you don't get too much stink on you if you struggle. 

 

We all still want Hamer, Sheffield were terrible. Marco Silva (and a lot of others) have been sacked by Watford and nobody blames him for it. 

 

You do a year at Leicester, Maresca has proven it's a good audition for a manager and if you're a player, you're probably in a strong bargaining position to get a suitable release clause in your contract these days. 

 

We've always been a stepping stone, we're just now more of one.

Totally agree. Way more to gain than lose. Especially financially.

Look at Onana - young, highly rated who went to Everton who were in a similar predicament (points deduction, relegation favourites) and now he’s playing CL football at Villa

This is really outside the usual scope of: he is too good for us, he is too crap for us, why would he want to live in Leicester, he is too expensive usual set of reasons! Just gone straight to, 'no one should join us, and if they do it's obviously some kind of scam'! 😄
