It doesn’t work like a straight in and out budget unless you’re working across a five year cycle.

 

to balance in this year we need to sell a player that delivers profit of approx  1/5 of our spend. So if we spend 75m in the window then we need to find 15m of pure profit on sales to cover that.  thats going to be a struggle.

If we buy with an obligation the fee will count in next seasons PSR. That's why we'd do it. 

 

But we'd probably have to pay them a bumper fee for the convenience to us and inconvenience to them.
