It just amazes me how it must’ve gone through so many people to approve his signing and it still went through.

How could so many people get it so wrong

You have seen who is in charge of us and their signings right ? He was just one of the absolute dross we have signed in the past few years.

Is it possible that we’ve reached the absolute bottom and today the curve has started to twitch in an upward direction?

No, not yet I don’t think.

It is true though that with the exception of JJ, all these departures have made us stronger

To be honest I blame the club more than I do the player.

He scored 14 in 111 for Marseille as a youngster. 9 in 51 for Villa and 8 in 50 for Swansea in his mid 20s, and for most of his peak age at Palace scored 21 in 175. What did anyone truly expect from this donkey?! He is over the hill, a free transfer and his legs have gone so to me having a pop at him is like having a go at an OAP.

Another Turkey of a signing from the decision makers.

Free transfer? We paid £5 million.

The most mind boggling transfer ever considering age profile and scoring record etc

for me the worst ever signing we have ever made all things considered

If Vardy gets a statue (he should) then this ***** deserves a wooden spoon

How does that even make sense, cost £5m scored 11 goals in 2 seasons.

Wasnt even signed as a striker, yet there is someone that springs to mind that was signed as a striker for about 5 times as much has been on the payroll for 5 years and over the same period as an attacker managed 6 goals

It is just my opinion bud. No dramas if you have other thoughts but mine is that Ayew was ****ing dogshit

Historic moment - we need to retire Ayew’s unique cement boots and put them in a sturdy display case at the KP.

More a removal of his face print from the KP turf

I think there's fair arguments for either. However at the time, Daka looked like a good deal. Ayew never did.

So in terms of it being a bad signing I suppose you might factor in that one performed really well at a lower level and was bought in the hope they'd replicate that at a higher level. The other was bought knowing full well they weren't capable of playing at the highest level anymore if they ever were, whose only apparent attribute that warranted a purchase was "premier league experience".

The first didn't deliver on the promise, the second basically gave us what we expected.

Ayew got 11 goal contributions in his previous season for Palace,

Does that mean he couldn’t play at the highest level?

Don’t get me wrong he has been fairly shit, but given his reported wage 30k and length of contract I don’t think he is the worst ever signing by a long shot.
If the wages that are reported are correct

£272k a goal Ayew

£1.3m Daka over the last 2 years

Ayew wasn’t on 30K p/w in the PL.

Not really just about numbers is it, the Daka signing made sense in terms of profile, had he had one good season in the prem we'd of likely made a profit on him.

Ayew came in at a time when we were already up against it with regards to PSR, so rather then go back to buying young players who we can give a platform and try to sell, we signed Ayew, which you could maybe make a case for if he was a game changer despite his age but he isn't
