Oh how I miss the days we were linked with - and subsequently signed - random young players from the French, Belgian and Danish leagues. Like Mahrez and Ndidi.

People act like these signings are 100% hits. We've signed some absolute muck for a fecking bomb from the top leagues on the continent.

Every FT transfer thread “ He’s  a good player” “ He’s a rubbish player” “ he’s a decent player”.

Can't remember who said it, but there is a clear divide on our transfers.

We're after Bilal in one breath and Josh Brownhill the next.

Are you suggesting there is a lack of subtle thinking in our reported transfer targets?

We need to sack Cooper ASAP before he ruins our squad value completely. This would be an utterly hideous signing, even in this summer of hideous signings.

That’s why it’s probably unlikely click bait, at least unless we ship out Ward and Iversen.

When the head of recruitment tells Steve he isn't very good, but has over a hundred Premier League appearances:

I'm going to go ahead and say, I think he's underrated; as in much better than everybody upset at our transfer policy is going to give him credit for. That said, do we really need another midfielder in this mould?

He's a tidy player, but he's in his prime years meaning we'll overpay for him. If we can spunk £5m on a soon to be 33 year old in the last year of his contract. A decent Prem level CM at 28 is gonna set us back about £30m lol

We’re so much weaker than we were at the end of last season. Genuinely at this point wish we’d renewed the likes of Praet and Iheanacho. It’s like we’re preparing for the Championship, or looking to transition but in the wrong direction.

It must be that we're preparing for the Championship in 25/26, because the club are clearly not serious about trying to actually stay up this season.
