Looking forward to July when Monga hasn't left but neither he nor Evans, Braybrooke, Popov or even Alves are anywhere near Russell Martin's first friendly squad and Foxestalk crashes.

Tbf to Russell I think he’s more likely to give those sort of players a chance.

I watched a bit of the video on the new manager thread and that was the bit that stood out to me actually. I do think he is cut from the Brendan cloth the way he talks and I have massive concerns over the style.

But, when he talked about the remit working with Jason Wilcox to bring youth through, I did wonder whether he might be a good fit. And I hate myself for saying that.

19 this year and still stuck between their under 21s and under 18s

I honestly thought Voice was older than that. You’re telling me he was 16 when it happened?!

Sadly, the experience of seeing will lose two years of his fledgling career and possibly all of it at the levels he might have reached will make JM leave more quickly and take the dosh

we can make the point that WA suffered his injury in youth football but that doesn’t really hold water

Just to point out, Monga won't necessarily be anymore financially better off by joining Man City this summer than he would the following summer when he signs his 1st pro deal. Whatever he agrees with a club this summer won't be active. So any injury he may get could change the outcome of his career come his 17th birthday.

That's why in my naive state I could see him staying another year and seeing what happens.

In which case, IF we do get promoted, and he plays a part in it, we could offer him more than the likes of Man City and Chelsea.

With us he’d be playing a decent amount of Premier League minutes. With them he’d probably go back to the 21s with an occasional appearance in a cup or Europe.

That’s is true although I expect the rich clubs find a way to funnel monies to the family. Whilst I assume  it’s not allowed, I’d expect Man City to agree a deal this summer which will come into effect July 2026 when he turns 17. (On the basis he goes there this summer).

Exciting Jeremy Monga revelation as Ruud van Nistelrooy explains plan for 15-year-old
The winger is in line to make the City squad for the trip to Brighton after becoming the Premier League's second-youngest player with his senior debut against Newcastle

Jeremy Monga’s training levels have reached new heights following his senior Leicester City debut with the 15-year-old winger in line for more appearances this season.

Monga became the second-youngest player in Premier League history and City’s own second-youngest appearance maker when he played the final 15 minutes in the 3-0 defeat to Newcastle.

Manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has confirmed that Monga will be considered for selection for the remaining seven Premier League matches and suggested he was keen to get him involved, saying “within reason we have to use him as much as we can”.

There is balance to strike with managing a player so young and ensuring they’re not overwhelmed. But van Nistelrooy believes Monga already possesses the physical and mental attributes he needs alongside his talent.

And Monga is pushing for more. He has raised his performance levels in training this week and will be a contender to feature at Brighton on Saturday.

“We have to respect his age and not go too quickly for him,” van Nistelrooy said. “We have to protect him in the best way. That’s the realistic part of it.

“But you could see the way he trained this week, after he made his debut, it’s already lifted him and showed an even higher level, so it’s going quickly really with him.

“We have to stay close and be in touch with him. We are, many coaches are, together with him.

“You have to look after these players, mentally and physically. You can’t go too quick too soon. But within reason, we have to make the most of it and use him as much as we can.”

Van Nistelrooy said that first-team coach Andy King, another player who graduated from the youth ranks at City, is taking on special duties to aid Monga’s transition from youth-team player to first-teamer, having worked with him in the Under-18s earlier in the season.

“At such a young age and being the second youngest ever in the Premier League, it says something about how early he has developed,” van Nistelrooy said.

“He has the physical capability also and the mental capability to handle this. But we have his pathway ready for him and we’re going to guide him through that.

“We don’t want to go too quickly, neither too slowly. That’s a careful communication with the coaches at the club.

“We have Andy King, who worked with him in the youth teams and who is guiding him in a great way, helping him to develop to his fullest, because the talent is there.”

City hope that these next seven games are not the final matches for which Monga will be at the club, with Manchester City the leading contender among a host of clubs looking to sign the winger.

If Monga departed this summer, his transfer fee would likely be decided by tribunal. Players can only sign professional contracts once they turn 17, which Monga won’t do until July 2026.

The problem with Russell is that he has a football philosophy that simply doesn’t work.  It’s a system that relies on your players being twice as good as the opponents because they have to work twice as hard to create a chance, whilst simultaneously giving the opponents free chances to score.

At least Enzo had a functioning system; even if it was boring

Probably offer family members jobs on decent wedge.

I think they’re in enough trouble as it is.

Would it not be a good idea to.see Jake Evans get some game time, that's the position we could be desperately short next season

Especially as he's just turned 17 and may not yet have signed his 1st pro deal with us. He's equally as talented as Monga IMO.

Got all the attributes to trouble defenders…. Unlike any of our current attackers…..

I love the fact that Kingy has taken him under his wing . Sometimes small things like that can sway things .I know there’s been debates on Kings playing abilities over the years but two thing’s you can’t take away are that he’s an absolute pro and knows what it’s like to come through the youth system and play for Leicester.. He’s also a really nice bloke which you don’t get too often in the cut throat world of football .

I presume he’s been pulled from the England U16 tournament he’s been called up for over the next few weeks based on Ruud’s comments…

I like to get Evans deal done ASAP.

For all the doom a gloom, we have a nice crop of youngsters Nelson, Alves, Braybrooke, Monga, Evans.

Plus young first terms in El Khannouss and Fatawu.

With the right manager and a DOF who could recuit the right players with a little more experience we could be back on track

I always felt this was a long road.

Not sure if it's always been the case but Evans hasn't any posts on Insta anymore, swear he had loads of LCFC ones.

I don't read to much into it, this guys are still kids and you have to expect them to so all sorts.

One interesting change is we have gone from a club reluctant to move youngsters up and age group to fast tracking lots.

Wonder who influenced this change.

Noticed this earlier. But has got rid of all his England stuff too FWIW.
