Yes but Silko will come on before him 😂

To be fair Silko has been our only back up option when Monga has been out.

Its been worth having a look at him, we should be bloodg as many as we can and making decisions about about their future.

He could probably stay here another 3 seasons and still have a whole list of elite clubs desperate to sign him

But would he actually improve? He would leaen more in a weekend at Man City than this club under managers like Marti and our squad.  The same with Fatawu. Our creative wingers are being stalled by this manager. They have too many bad habits that haven’t been corrected and too easily slip into step overs mode instead of running into space to drive and cross.  Thats all down to the staff.

He will get drilled with discipline, tactics and accountability.  Hold the ball up here and pass to the player who you know will be running to here. Now it’s hold the ball up, step over, cut back, nutmeg, pass backwards as you have no support and no manager drilling you to cross the ball or get into shooting positions.

Should have been Evans IMO

I'm not surprised a manager is under pressure that he picks a player a little older and more experienced.

It does seem Evans holding out to signing he contract until has held back his involvement.

Hopefully he gets his chance soon.

The lack of Monga has apparently genuinely been down to injury but I suppose we will see how much he features. I like him as an impact sub and do thing Mavididi and Fatuwu are in on merit.

The strong word is that he signs the pro contract and there is a gentleman's agreement or perhaps even something a little stronger alongside it that allows him to explore options to move on for a fee.

I would like to think we'd build in a year on loan back even though we'd be developing another team's player.

Don't shoot the messenger and the sources aren't top level, but they've always been accurate before. Basically fairly common knowledge.

At least it sounds like he’ll sign a pro deal first ensuring we can hopefully get up to £15m for him! Maybe can come to some agreement with Heskey coming back on loan to us for next season?

Also as posted above will need to be involved and in the squad a reasonable amount still in order for us to negotiate a decent fee for him.

Thought he’d been given a pretty bumper contract as well in order to sign these agreements, sort of average squad wage which is a huge amount for a 16 year old. So he’s not been too hard done by

The contract is all pre-agreed mate and everything is good on both sides, apparently.

I know he’s a young lad but putting clips up on his Insta skinning a few players when we’ve lost 4-1 is a bit mental.

Result not his fault. If hes happy with some of his play then he's entitled to say so.

Not going to have a go at him because he's 16 but I'm hating this kind of shit about footballers now.

It's all about them and it ****ing shows with performances like yesterday.

It’s very much a thing academy players do on their socials. They post almost a highlight reel after games.

That was one of Philogene's few good matches for Ipswich since he signed. Overall he has been absolute dross for them. He had an absolute nightmare against Derby the game before whereas Monga is yet to have a bad game for us.

You cant just focus on the one game where Philogene scored a hattrick when comparing players, you have to look at all the games and the consistency of the players and on average Monga has been better than Philogene this season. If they were both the finished product I would have no reservations in picking Monga as the better player.

3mths later & having a better season than any of our wingers.
I’d have taken at the start of the season and I’d certainly take him now

Cost more than all of our wingers combined

Philogene was rubbish against us as he is most weeks.

Scores a banger every 5 games off the bench then does nothing for the other 4 games, if that's what we need then we should have kept Demarai Gray.

Much rather have Monga.

Not convinced this is right time to be slandering Demarai Gray tbh, as he would be our starting striker. lol

Chelsea and Manchester City are both interested in England youth international winger Jeremy Monga, 16, and could look to recruit him from Championship side Leicester in January. (Teamtalk)

Take with a few buckets of salt, naturally.

Would be sad to see him hoovered up by Man City or Chelsea, only to probably only end up on loan. Would like to see him stay here, but realistically he'll be sold won't he.

I thought he’d committed to sign his 1st pro deal with us?

That said if cash flow is an issue, which seems like it could be and  there was guaranteed £10 - £15 million compensation our board will probably sell.
