Because how we went about signing him.

and it differed from scouting players in local youth teams and offering them scholar positions (the way every team recruits their youth levels) how?

Because the way we went about it.

To be honest, I shouldn't have said anything but there are one or two who know the full story on here.

Wasn't great what we did but i suppose that's the ruthlessness of kids/academy football.

the sum total of what you've described (scouting kids in local youth teams, not other academies and offering them scholarships) is how every academy works...

No. More to it than that.

This article suggests it's not a done thing yet that he's off:

But feel with City at the moment, it's expect the worst and hope for the best!

For RVN to speak so publicly and with such strong wording, I can't imagine he's already off.

Obviously not suggesting he won't still leave but I'd highly doubt it's a 100% done deal if our first team head coach is talking about his pathway to the first team and how important we see him if he knows he's 99% gone.

I kind of get that.

I also think this place does no good in promoting anything but negativity around the club at the moment. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying we should be looking at the club through rose tinted specs. I've tried to keep off of here as much as I can recently, while results haven't been great there's been aspects around our play I have been encouraged by, still some massive concerns, 'cough' JJ 'cough'. I've been away on a course this week and find myself coming onto here through boredom and wow does your mod change around everything LCFC related when your reading this stuff daily. Coming onto here you would think it's doomsday, there literally isn't one positive active thread within the 'Leicester City' or 'Transfer Talk' forum- minus the Foodbank for Fulham. It's all so defeatist. This thread being a prime example that one poster (who clearly has some links to the academy) states a deal is done to Man City and we're in melt down yet there's no actual confirmation or facts.

I'm aware people will say that I sound like I'm just happy to ignore the big issues that people on here try and address, but lets be honest, the issues on here are the same that have been discussed for ages. Does that mean we should be happy and accept it, no of course not, but if engaging on here less means I can enjoy supporting my club more, I'll take that for sure.

Its a side of football that needs more light brought onto it, players are getting brought in at younger and younger ages and safeguarding needs increasing

Will say it again. If we can stay up (because I don’t believe he will stay otherwise), Ruud has so many things to build this club up.

You do know that Bournemouth are also building a fairly expensive training ground and still haven’t done anything to their stadium, despite being in the premier league for a fair few years now.

You do realise those two statements are linked?

Ie their existing training ground is next to their stadium and in order to majorly alter their existing stadium, they need the land of that training ground?

Ha, as has previously been pointed out you probably picked the worst team in the league to put in Homer's place lol

Incorrect, they can't expand towards the land where their current training pitches are because it's boxed in by houses. The land they were looking at to build a new stadium was over the other side of the car park, where the current athletics ground is.

Anyway, Monga starts tomorrow or we riot!

Doesn’t the training ground need vacating then to do the land swap with the athletics track?

Maybe, depends on how big the new stadium would be I guess. Seeing that they've moved the training ground to Canford Magna now anyway (which was in the pipeline for years, before they last got relegated iirc) I guess it would give them loads of space if the swap did happen.

I was referring to the their new Canford Magna training ground https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/videos/c62w2e9nw4qo.

Obviously we’d take the points at the moment, but (at the time) King Power would have evaluated their options re expanding the stadium and building the training ground. Also I’m sure some of the land purchases around the ground (the national grid and eon buildings)?
