I have actually wanted Okoli to start and play, even in the prem. Ruud was right!
can’t get the tactical decision to leave 1v1 at any stage of a game anyway. Always have a 2nd even for cover.  But that is terrible defending.

You wouldn't see Sunday league or even school boy players defend like that. To allow the striker to turn and get away from him was pathetic but to then get himself sent off in the first half, ultimately meaning we will lose, is unacceptable. Players make mistakes but when they are completely brain dead like that, there is just no hope.

Never understood why players do it. The striker isn’t bound to score and we might just get a covering defender back in time or keeper pulls off a great block. Even if not it’s only 1-0 and plenty of time left in the game, with 11 on the pitch and at home against another struggling side.

Grrrr!

It was avoidable, that red card. Let his teammates and manager down. He had the pace to deal with Dykes had he got away. At 1-0 down with 11 you have a chance and no guarantee he would have scored from there.

It’s gross stupidity to rugby tackle someone when you’re last man, at 0-0, 15 minutes in.

The last minutes of a game, maybe.

If there’s another defender alongside you, maybe.

But what I really can’t fathom is why he didn’t back himself for pace. The attacker would have to have 3-4 perfect touches as well as beat him for pace over a 40+ yard sprint, the odds were in Okoli’s favour

Too many idiots in our squad

Just seen the red, amazing stuff. How can you do that and expect anything else to be the outcome?

There's definitely something going on where people assume because he's so horrendous with the ball he must be good at defending because otherwise that would mean he's absolutely shit, wouldn't it? What a defender, loves defending.

We have had offer’s and could have offloaded him,

another example Of shocking management, clearly not good enough from day one and will be another milks it for 5 years and goes off on free at the end of his contract

Said it from day one he is shocking. Went up playing Enzo football so buy a player with two left feet. Not a chance in hell would he of been signed if Enzo was there that summer

Sometimes I think about this, trying to imagine him playing Maresca football in the premier league lol

I reckon Maresca walked after he saw the shortlist for the summer ahead lol

Ridiculous defending. Got far too tight and too easily turned. Even then, just let him go ffs. Its the championship and he had 50 yards to run. He wasn't going to score.

Truly awful defender. Not brilliant in the air for his height. Dreadful passing ability and his brain seems to be half a yard behind any forward he comes up against. Pleading his case with the red today when he was as guilty as a puppy sat next to a pile of crap

Can’t pass, not great at heading, lacks pace, overrated as a defender, poor decision making. Okoli has been another terrible buy. Much preferred seeing Aluko in that role, despite his lack of experience and physicality. He’s so much better at playing football that he’s well ahead of Okoli for me.

Indeed. This was one of the most bird-brained red cards I have ever seen. Okoli could’ve at least tried to slow down their forward, giving our keeper time to get his shit together.
But the sad thing is that he’s no worse than most of these jokers.

Could not believe what i had witnessed.

Get your head down, run, and make life as difficult for the attacker as possible.  Just lazy.  Although their no 11 was a handful, we still dont know if could actually shoot or not.

There were warning signs of this in the last few games to be honest.

Seriously I'd just say to the lad, enough's enough get your agent to find you another club as you'll never pay for this one again.

Unforgivably ****ing stupid.

They were ****ing shite and he just gifted them the 3 points.
