He makes another mistake trying to play out from the back. We just don't have the profile of players that can do this. Incredible how he has claimed a career in football, just on athleticism alone.

Just watched the goal back, and I think he's at fault twice in the build up to the goal. Strange pass to try and play (it wasn't on), and then sort of gets frozen in place as he realises his mistakes, making it easy to play around him. If he'd dropped back on making the mistake he probably could have cut off the supply or made an interception... disappointing.

I'm really not sure what to make of him. Would love him to succeed (and great he got a goal), but you can't make mistakes like that every week.

It was a real shame he made the mistake for the equaliser because other than that he was superb. Made so many blocks and interceptions.

Too be honest I noticed it a lot last night where as a team we make some hairbrained decisions to try and play out in very tight spaces and in dangerous defensive positions and often give the ball away and end up on the back foot. Mavididi, Fatawu, Ayew and even Mukasa were guilty of being dispossessed deep in our own half trying to dribble out rather than clearing our lines. Hopefully this is something Rowett changes quickly, as it’s no wonder we concede so many.

He needs to learn to just clear it up field. He's not a passing type of footballer, but can do the dirty work of what you should expect from a CB. Has his bozo moments, but that is why he's playing for us and not higher.

Silly signing though, we play out from the back and sign a defender that can't. He needs to leave the passing to Nelson.

But most of the game he was good defensively, just moments of stupidity is costing us

He can actually defend quite well at times but his touch is usually heavy and his passing is just poor. Hope Lacselles comes back in the side soon and stays fit until season ends. Then we might have a chance

It’s clear he’s told to try and play out, The problem is he is no where near good enough to do so.

i know he’s made some bloopers this season but i like him being physical and smashing lads out the way rather than Jannik falling other after a coming together with a 5 foot 6 forward.

Reality is that neither are truly ideal.

Looking at the stats makes for interesting reading.

You would think they would make a great pairing with one playing the ball the other attacking the defensive side of the game but keeping it simple ………….

Sadly both are thick and play themselves into trouble at the expense of their team mates, but all our defence does it with such ease.

As long as Okoli plays, he will make mistakes every game and cost us more points till the end of this season .  A manager isn't going to be able to stop his brain shutting down and stuttering before he passes the ball to the opposition. Either he has been poorly coached by not correcting and improving this weakness, or he is beyond coaching.  I'm thinking it's both.

We can all see he is unable to pass the ball but Ricardo, Nelson and the keepers constantly put him in situations that he can't handle.  He isn't very good at an important part of what he's being asked to do, passing the ball to a player on our team.

The poor clearance the other game was inexcusable for any professional player.

Realistically we're going to be persistent with him and Nelson. There is at least a chance that they improve which isn't the case with any of our other options.

We don't have any money to replace them, I can't see anyone paying money for Nelson in the last summer before he leaves on a free and no one is buying Okoli.

So I think it'll be them next season depending on Souttar's recovery. That's assuming we survive.

He needs to be told to launch it every time he has someone within 10 yards of him. From behind the goal it showed his pass was supposed to go towards Reid who was coming short for it but spun back out with him then wanting the ball over his head. Okoli just can't make these passes he just hasn't got that in his locker he just needs to simplify his game and play it long.

We don’t play “launch it” football though.

With the right players, ball retention will always work out better than giving it the opposition, for it to then come straight back at us. Football at the top level, isn’t a basketball game.

Launch it works when you’ve got great hold up players and combative midfielders. We just don’t have those either. So we’d be conceding the ball by smashing it long every time, rather than trying to play a ball into Winks and Skipp.

I can see Vestergaard coming back in once fit. Or we need a complete change in system and go three at the back then just focus on out scoring the  opposition. We sure aren’t keeping a clean sheet anytime soon.

I think under Rowett we will get the ball forward a bit quicker once he gets more time coaching the team. The point I was making about Okoli is he's just not a ball playing CB and if I was a manager I'd get him to get the ball out of his feet as soon as possible and if that means him launching so be it.

Pretty similar really.

Can you see who’s made more errors leading to goal? That would be interesting

The Championship don’t record that stat unfortunately. Thats what I was looking for this morning.

I felt for him the other night because he was having an excellent game up to that error.

I just wonder,  How much of a part did the Head injury play in his poor decision making.

It's easy to be wise afterwards but maybe he should have stayed off the Pitch after the Head injury.

Despite the consensus he was shit, apparently he made the most blocks/clearances, headers won and was only behind Skipp in tackles.  Scored the only goal too.

He wasn't shit in terms of actually defending but his ability on the ball is hideous
