Someone mentioned it a few days ago but I'd not be surprised to see us take Tajon Buchanan in on loan from Inter. Can play RW, LW or full back.

There's a shout. Would we be looking for utility players to cover a few positions? The only issue at that is they can be a master of none.

We need.

RB

CB

CB

MC

RW

LW

AMC

ST

Also a player with the ability that has a excellent free kick to score goals

AMC is the last position we need with Buonanotte and El Khannous doing very well.

Very unrealistic to sign that many in January.

Players I'd like to see us try sign this window who are out of contract in the summer....

Tyrick Mitchell

Kyle Walker Peters

Tariq Lamptey

Sergio Reguilon

Nicola Zalewski

Roony Bardghji

Olivier Boscagli

Angel Gomes

Yarek Gasiorowski

Jonathan Tah

Rayan

....maybe some ambitious names there but still.

Sort the fuching back line/ defensive part. Prevent those shots from getting sprayed at us

The back line clearly needs improving, but the number of shots getting sprayed at us is also partly down to having a completely porous central midfield. If we don't do something about that, we're going to struggle to stay up.

Realistically the starting 11 needs at least a left wing back, centre back, right back, winger and a striker (if Daka doesn’t impress). So 4/5 potential signings are needed to improve the current side.

I’m not a fan of utilising the loan market but for the amount we need, we have to use it this January. How many loans can we register in a match day squad? Is it 2?

Centre back and right winger are the main priorities to get right in this market. Every other position would be an added bonus.

Our January 2023 activity in a similar position doesn't fill me with confidence that we'll get it right in this window.

Biggest problem with that window was starting with Perez and Sharky as our only options on the RW, letting them both go out on loan and replacing with Tete who barring one good game was terrible.

If we had held on to Perez we stay up imo.

Marcus Edwards, hasn't had the best season, no doubt talented, 26 might be time to return home.

Contract ending in 2026, could we get a cheeky loan deal done for him.

Good shout that.

Loan with an option would be best given our circumstances.

Looked on the a few seasons ago worth a punt no doubt.

Tyrone Mings, Ben Chilwell, KDH, Evan Ferguson, Jobe Bellingham,

+ any Dutch gems

should be on the consideration list for next week signings.

Mings - don't feel he's any better than what we have, maybe worse.

Chilwell won't lower himself to our levels and we can't afford his wages

KDH - would have to be a loan, not sure he's our main need

Evan Ferguson - can't afford him and can't loan him unless we send one of our best players back from his loan

Jobe Bellingham - a possibility, but is he any better than what we currently have?

Just my thoughts, may be I'm way off the mark.

I agree with that largely.

Mings is shit, so no thanks.

Chilwell, regardless of ability I wouldn't trust him to play out the rest of the season for us anyway. He's managed to finish a season for Chelsea once.  He's been injured more often than not for the last 3 seasons, and it's always something different too so you can never say he's over it now.

KDH. Open to it, but the finances won't be right.

Evan. As above.

Jobe. Sunderland are not selling an important player with a huge name during a promotion chase for anything less than fxxk you money.

I know Marc Guiu is down as a striker but if he can play off either side he could be a decent shout as Enzo might be willing to let him go on loan in January and it will be to a premier league club but doubt to a top 8ish side so we could get our noses in there with Enzo connections.

We can only have 2 loans so these need to be young hungry energetic forward thinking players that will make a huge contribution to our team goals wise & eager to show off their attacking talent for their home clubs at the same time, we should be happy with that because we should be going for loans of players we probably shouldn’t be able to buy.

What impressed about Guiu, apart from the goals and I know the standard of the opposition wasn’t great there, was his pressing the kid never stopped and if that is going to be part of RVN plan he could be a great option paired with either Bilal/Facundo along side Vardy/Daka.

The big issues of our defence is where we should be putting our money in January and should be looking for the best options to purchase, we don’t need 1s for the future at this stage we need a few rocks that can step in now and for fear of sounding like Cooper they need to understand what it will take for a club like us needs for the 2nd half of the season ie Huth types.

We certainly need ready made fullbacks akin to Reguilon who won’t cost the earth but can step in day 1 and still be in their prime years to warrant a 3/4 deal. They would also need to be adapt at covering their sides without having out and out wingers in front of them.

Centre backs will be a little harder to fill as we have an abundance of experience but we need pace and not sure we can find the premier combo of experience and pace from a premier league club willing to sell in January.

So its dropping to find the best of the championship someone not currently in their prime but exceeding their age and has pace along with already being settled in the UK v dipping abroad on someone with those attributes and hope their character can settle them quickly, a Milenkovic type or maybe Godfrey could be an option and why he’s being linked his versatility would come in handy to play with the CBs we have now along with being RB & DM cover.

Midfield and permanent wing options might need to wait until summer.

If he can stay bloody fit, then I wouldn’t be surprised if we try for Jeremiah St Juste at Sporting Lisbon.

Was linked to Leicester before he joined Sporting, would add some much needed pace to the defence, plus he’s Dutch 👍🏻

So here's a question for you. If you could only invest in 3 players maximum, what positions would you prioritise?
