Popular Post Gazza M Posted 2 November 2024 Popular Post Posted 2 November 2024 (edited) Let's be frank the players on the whole are barely good enough regardless who the manager is. There is more hunger and fight in the squad than 2 years ago at least. A point a game looks like it will be enough for safety and I think Cooper can steer us there. He hasn't lost to any of the teams down the bottom yet which is important. We really need to beat Wolves and West Ham at home in December now though. Edited 2 November 2024 by Gazza M 6 1 3

cruzFOX Posted 2 November 2024 Posted 2 November 2024 Well we are where we are I guess. Coulda shoulda woulda. Really tough games coming up and we will need to play out of our skins to get a point or we’ll get smashed. I wish we grabbed a few more wins. This season is gonna drain the life out of us but if we survive it will be worth it whether it’s with cooper in or cooper out. 1

Yeah today we had basically our championship 11 except for Kris and Buonanotte. We don’t have a great side. They might be good enough to stay up (this year especially) but we’re not gonna be mid table realistically with these players imo. I wasn’t thrilled with the Cooper appointment and I wouldn’t be shocked if he didn’t last the season. Having said that, if we survive I don’t really care whether it ends up being under him or not, as long as we get there and we’re tracking to do that at the min. I think a lot of fans have an unconscious bias because he’s boring and mainly because he used to manage Forest. Edited 2 November 2024 by Kent 8

Exactly, great comments It is what it is we’re doing ok and right now I’ll take that rather than being in the bottom 3
ForestAreMagic Posted 2 November 2024 Posted 2 November 2024 From a distance, Cooper looks like he’s improved in a couple of areas since he managed us. You’re better away than we were, you’re not getting regular thrashings and you seem to have a knack of scoring some late goals. 4
Gazza3 Posted 2 November 2024 Posted 2 November 2024 We have played 4 of the bottom 5 and won only one. It's going to get worse 4

Whose fault is that? money has been spent but it hasn’t really strengthened the first 11

Facundo is technically better than KDH, but not by much, and doesn't have his strength on the ball, Skipp is strong but but not as technically gifted as KDH in front of goal, VK and Doyle has different qualities but equally as efficient imo. We've added BDCR and Ayew, the first has offered nothing so far, but Ayew has some qualities. Soumare could end up being a valuable player. Okoli could go on to be a good defender, but at present it looks as if he could be benched for the forseable, and we've let Nelson go out on loan. We also have Bilal and Golding who seem one for the future. We are stronger, but in squad depth rather than quality, a decent manager can use that depth to an advantage, but i dont think we have one

The momentum of the game was largely with Ipswich. Yes they didn’t create that many clear cut chances, but the momentum was definitely more with them than us until the red card. 2 1
foxes_rule1978 Posted 3 November 2024 Posted 3 November 2024 There is still a decent argument to keep cooper, so I see why the thread remains open… my goal was 7 points from these four and it was met… however I feel we can be more fluent and be better, I felt we have had to rely a lot on luck 1

I think the Forest link and excuse is very overplayed, very few people actually give a toss! No animosity against O'Neil or Morgan was there. 2
The_77 Posted 3 November 2024 Posted 3 November 2024 Does anyone here honestly believe that Cooper makes the squad better than, or at least as good as, the sum of its parts? That is a simple ask of a manager, no? Or is there that much of a talent gap between us and Nottingham Forest, Ipswich Town, Everton, and Palace? It’s OK to admit we’re not in a desirable position as a club. But us being shit doesn’t mean we have to pretend that Steve Cooper is anywhere near being a decent Premier League manager. 1
Webbo Posted 3 November 2024 Posted 3 November 2024 It doesn't matter who the manager is, people come here to hate. If Cooper had won every game these people would be hating Rudkin instead. There's nothing wrong with fair criticism, it's just the irrational bullsh1t that winds me up. 2 1

What about the criticism of Cooper has been irrational? Do you need some more stats to make it more rational for you? 1

As for the stats, points won and league position says we're not doing bad. Probably won't be the worst points total ever as was predicted, irrationally, by many on here. 4 1

Don't tell me people hadn't made their minds up before a ball had been kicked. We've made a better start than most newly promoted teams for the last few seasons. Did you think we'd be pushing for European qualification or something? 2 1

Let’s hope Top can give us a few quid in January to bring in a bit more quality as for Cooper I don’t care if he managed Forest or Cov I just feel with our squad and bunch of players he’s out of his depth, his team choices tactics and set ups just frustrate many fans on here he was a knee jerk appointment as no one would come in as we looked like we were getting a massive points deduction and they didn’t fancy being bargain basement club for most if not all of the season, so just hope if he isn’t up to the job and the board agree they don’t keep him on like they did with Rodgers and basically got us relegated by failing to stop the rot months before !!
FOXSE Posted 3 November 2024 Posted 3 November 2024 The problem we have is similar to last season: if Foxes talk were fans of any other club last season, which manager wouldn't they have sacked? Maybe two or three? This season, arteta would be gone. Pep after losing away at Bournemouth: gone. Slot losing at home to forest: gone. Maybe slot survives! Big ange (utter fraud!) Gone. I'm Probably 15 of the 20 managers would be on the chopping block! I've just gone through the table, I reckon 12 mangers would have a large 'out' thread..... 1

No, but I expected us to be posting better than the 94th worst xG out of the top 5 league in Europe, or is that too unreasonable and irrational of me? Oh and I was hoping not to have faced the most shots on our goal out of anyone in the league by a distance too, I guess that's just me being overly emotional and irrational?
