I live in Nottingham and have seen such a stark decline in the city over the past 10 years. People in Leicester complain about what's happening there, but it's much more stark in Nottingham. Being such a student city, because times are hard and young people really don't socialise in the way one used to, most of the big clubs and bars have closed. The city centre is very dead even on on a Fri and a Sat. The independent pub, bar and restaurant scene in Leicester is much better, and there far more going in for comedy and theatre too.

I live here too, I think the actual issue (it's not actually an issue....) is that the local villages of Nottingham are booming and people are socialising more locally. Lots of independents pubs, restaurants, cafes etc are setting up shop more locally than in a city centre. It's a post covid thing, people stayed locally and communities thrived from it. I've just moved but I lived in Ruddington from the start of Covid to mid 2024 and the village transformed, full of shops, cafes, all the pubs got revamped etc etc.

The city centre issue in Nottingham is also emphasised by the 10+ year disaster that is broadmarsh.... but at least some stuff is starting to happen with it lol

Personally I cannot understand all the vitriol on this forum about Forest. Can't see why some people see them as rivals. They not really much closer to us than Villa.

To me it's just a game against another team the same as any other.

On that note I suspect it may well end as a draw.

I work in Notts so I'm absolutely dreading this one.

Hoping the shorter turnaround for them pushes it in our favour a bit. Would also be nice if we actually started our best players.

For all of these Cooper outliers that is a basic criticism of him - He continually picks a side devoid of our 3 or more best players i.e Saturday No Fatawu, Winks or Ricky.

It's fuching bizarre as much as anything else

It's always a bug bear I've had with the city of Leicester.

We have thriving, affluent villages with decent pubs restaurants in the likes of Kibworth, Mountsorrel, Woodhouse, Bosworth etc ....but the punters won't set foot in the city centre.

Interesting that that filth is now catching up (falling back) into that dynamic

It’s a national thing.

I work alongside a retail agent and the emphasis is on them letting units in secondary suburbs and market towns. No appetite for the city centres.

Difficult to predict this one until we've played tonight. Four points would be a superb return from the 2 games, how they come I wouldn't be bothered really. It's not helpful that we have over 2 days less recovery time but I suppose it means we have more than West Ham do the game after.

The word is that Gibbs-White is out tonight so hopefully he'll be alright for the weekend.

After a couple of wins you'll be tough to beat and I'd be expecting a very difficult game. Doubt it'll be one for the purists though.

You've clearly forgotten the total football style Cooper demands from his teams. I'm sure your boys will play their part too

Isn't Gibbs White suspended tonight?

Looking forward to this now. Amazing how a couple of wins can change confidence. If we hadn't won our last 2, I'd have been dreading this game. Think it works in our favour that they have to play Monday Friday as well, pretty quick turnaround for them.

I think he's both suspended and injured. His girlfriend posted a picture on Instagram a few days ago and he was on crutches. I suppose you never know though with the sort of mind games that get played now.

If anyone knows Gibbs-White though it's Cooper who has managed him 3 times so if he does play there will be a very specific plan for him.

That's how I personally view the game and I'd imagine a lot of Forest fans do too. I always thought Leicester saw Coventry as their biggest rival as well?

I suppose the longer we both play each other at this level the more chance of something a bit more meaningful developing, particularly as it looks like there's no chance of the sheep bothering either of us any time soon.

I'm 35 and I've never had to take them seriously
