Forest post match 3-1 loss

We have such a weird fan base.  People frothing at the mouth in the match thread to point out this is the 11 fans wanted to start.  Picking the 11 is the easy bit. Coaching week after week, having a plan, a style and tactics is the manager’s job, as is reacting to game situations.  Over 9 games we haven’t seen any of it, our points having been very very fortunate (and that won’t wash over 38 games) and no one can tell me they have a clue what our plan is game to game.  It’s weird to suggest this defeat proves he’s been doing it right until tonight.  
 

Compare what Nuno did with Forest at half time, and again at 3-1 to close out the game.  On the other hand, Cooper thinks Soumare is the answer.

1st half was decent and 1-1 was a fair score at half time - although you could see we were struggling to contain their wingers

 

2nd half even without the mistakes and goals was dreadful, not a single decent chance created

 

To me it looked like they dropped a bit deeper and packed out the midfield more meaning we couldn’t go through Winks or Ricardo, and once we finally got it out to the wingers they were doubled on so they either lost it trying to take a defender on or went backwards

 

Forest were able to simply soak up the “pressure” and pounce on a mistake or win the ball and break quickly on the counter down the wingers into the space (exactly the kind of tactics that caused us issues last season)

 

Players need a bollocking for the mistakes and Cooper still needs to learn to react quicker when it isn’t working

We lost to a better team, biggest difference was the quality of the back lines, they stayed organised and didn’t really give us a sniff.

We made mistake after mistake, and were punished. We’ll need to be a lot better organised at the back to get something out of games this season.

He’s throwing things at the wall to see what sticks. Trial and error with little foresight.

It’s our nearest rival, but points lost to Forest won’t define relegation. If we do not get at  least a draw at Ipswich, yeah then it’s open season.
