I truly believe that the players have zero clarity on what they are trying to achieve and have zero belief in the idea at all. Just seem to hit and hope we have been so Incredibly lucky this year. I would say that tonight the luck ran out but it didn’t, we were incredibly  luckily to lose 3-1. A truly disgraceful performance. You can’t change the squad, all you can do is change the manager and he is truly woeful. Yet nothing at all will be done.

3 very softly conceded goals borne of giving the ball away carelessly on edge of our area x 2 and letting ball bounce in our box from a goalkick x 1. You lose in any league doing that.

The lack of a robust leader in the middle of the park when weve spent £40m on two new centre mids is the clubs fault.

Cooper manages like a fantasy league manager or fan. Setting up in Enzo's formation as a response to having some confidence from winning 2 games is strange. He purposefully moved away from it for a more pragmatic 433 formation. So he clearly doesnt have a deeply engrained tactical ethos, which will be his undoing. He doesnt stand for anything.

That said, without schoolboy mistakes, we would have stood a chance in the game.

Can’t blame that on the manager tonight. Set up with the system and personal a majority on here were asking for. Simply not good enough from the players. Each Forest goal came from a preventable error.

You can’t have it both ways. I’ve been in the camp of saying he needs to play Fatawu and Ricardo and both were honking today. We also made stupid errors and looked way too open but you can’t blame Cooper for that. 

It's the first time he plays Marescas formation, but he deployed Ndidi on the wrong side and he omitted our best defender for this system. It's Ricardo's first start in months. 

And yet it was a fine, if rusty, first 45 mins. 

Cooper's failure to focus the players at half time and changing it around when Forest had us sussed out, that's on him.

I don’t think Cooper is the right man for the job but I’m balanced enough to see that he can’t control players not doing their jobs.

Folks, a manager can select the right personnel but still not make an impact as a coach during the game.

 

The defending was abysmal by the players, and that is on them, primarily. The lack of a clear press for most of the game was baffling, however, and I am struggling to comprehend what the plan was after half time for us to have a) played like that and b) not responded to Forest's changes in approach. Those aspects are on the coach. They aren't the reason we lost the game, but they certainly don't help.

 

Even after that, I still think that is our strongest 11, barring maybe JJ/Kristiansen. But probably not.

 

The loss is on the players primarily, but that doesn't give you an "I told you so" I'm afraid. Put it back on ice, deary me.

we tried to play enzo ball but the distribution to abdul and stephy, they had 2 to 3 players to beat, facundo mistakenly thought he'd been possessed by Maradona, JJ looked like he'd forgotten how to defend. Faes with the third was really poor but equally it looked like okoli could have also dealt with it and let it go. 

Ricardo rusty but what do you expect.

Happy with the starting line up and I said I would give him the benefit of doubt if he plays Abdul and Ricky, which I was prepared to do. But....... 

 

As soon as I saw he was bringing on Soumaré, he can frankly piss right off. Soumaré may well be my most hated player ever to play for us. Lazy shite. Clearly he doesn't want to be here so why play him! Cooper just doesn't have a clue does he?
