davieG Posted 28 November 2024 Posted 28 November 2024 https://www.leicestercity.news/news/leicester-city-cancel-key-event-as-ruud-van-nistelrooy-decision-made/ Leicester City cancel key event as Ruud Van Nistelrooy decision made Thu 28 November 2024 12:32 Callum Boyle Leicester City have made the decision to cancel one of their traditional events in light of the speculation surrounding Steve Cooper’s replacement. Cooper was sacked by the Foxes last weekend, who have been working hard to find his replacement. Now, as revealed on Wednesday, Ruud van Nistelrooy is close to becoming the new Leicester manager and could be in charge of the Foxes this weekend for their trip against Brentford. Leicester cancel press conference ahead of Brentford fixture As is customary every weekend, Premier League clubs’ managers will be speaking to the media ahead of the upcoming fixtures. However, sources close to Leicester City News have revealed that the Foxes have cancelled their traditional Thursday press conference slot. While a reason hasn’t been disclosed it’s believed that the club are waiting to officially announce Van Nistelrooy before allowing him to speak to the press. Should the 48-year-old not be confirmed in time, Ben Dawson, Andy Hughes and Danny Alcock will be the three coaches in charge of Leicester at Brentford. Ben Dawson Leicester City first team coach during the Premier League match between Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur at King Power Stadium on Au... When will the Leicester press conference take place? As per Premier League rules, Leicester will be required to speak to the media before this weekend’s game – regardless of whether or not Van Nistelrooy is appointed. If he isn’t in place to speak to the press, one of the trio of coaches in charge will be the most likely to take the presser. The press conference is expected to take place no later than 1:30 PM GMT on Friday 29 November, during which there will be an embargoed section where anything discussed can’t be published until after 10:30 PM GMT.

davieG Posted 28 November 2024 Posted 28 November 2024 Dawson will preview City’s match against Brentford at a pre-match press conference at 10.30am on Friday morning. Thomas Frank’s side have the best home record in the Premier League, with five wins and a draw to their name on their own patch.

jim5000 Posted 29 November 2024 Posted 29 November 2024 Score draw this. Brentford have the best home record in the league and are the better team. We are bang out of form but will have some new manager bounce and will snatch a draw for a respectable first result for Ruud. 1-1 or 2-2. 2

Guppys Love Child Posted 29 November 2024 Posted 29 November 2024 I guess what it needs (and would like to see happen) is the 3 Caretakers, Dawson, Hughes and Adcock, if in charge actually mix it up a bit, and show a clear indication of a move away from Coopers 'anti-tactics'. Actually look like we have a plan in place, even if it's reverting back to a version on EnzoBall that the majority of the team are comfortable with, at least its something, and better than Cooper's clueless hang in there and hope to grab a lucky goal and a point approach.
FoxFossil Posted 29 November 2024 Posted 29 November 2024 Vardy to start on a twelve game scoring run (please santa)

Don't we see a new manager watching a game from the seats because they signed right before hand? He'll get an evening out in London after the game! (I don't know why I dislike Brentford so much ... I generally don't mind the smaller London teams - aside from Millwall, of course - but Brentford has always annoyed me.)
Popular Post moore_94 Posted 29 November 2024 Popular Post Posted 29 November 2024 (edited) Ben Dawson Pre-Match Press Conference vs Brentford Cooper sacking a surprise? “A little bit unexpected. A few messages back and forth to check he’s okay. Never nice when three good people lose their jobs. Then the focus was on the game.” This week? “It’s been a whirlwind. Your focus shifts quickly and coming up with gameplans for a tough game. The players have been professional and that’s all we can ask in this situation.” When did you find out you were taking charge? “We’ve known for a few days. Midweek. We’ve worked on that proviso since Tuesday.” Anything you can say on Van Nistelrooy? “Nothing. I was hoping you might be able to shed some light on it! We’re just focusing on the game.” Copenhagen party? “The lads had a couple of days and it’s their decision what they do with their time off. The club dealt with the issue quickly and we’ve moved on.” Injuries? “Harry’s the only one. He’s recovering well. Tomorrow will be too early but hopefully he’ll join the group again soon.” Brentford? “They’ve got a really good home record this year. It’s a really good environment for a Premier League game. We’ve prepared well and we hope we can show that.” What does a new manager need to bring? “I think in these situations, it’s about stability. Everybody wants certainty. As soon as a decision is made, everybody can get behind that person and move forward.” Message from chairman? “It’s just been to give a positive account of ourselves and the football club. It’s part and parcel of the industry. We just have to make sure the players are in the best position possible and give a performance that the fans would expect.” Strengths? “I’m a coach and my strengths lie on the grass, developing players and helping them improve. We’ll soon see if one of my strengths is taking the team!” Conceding goals? “Conceding goals in the Premier League is a given. It’s going to happen. There’s only the Man United game we didn’t score in. There’s give and take. We want to be conceding fewer and scoring more and hopefully that starts tomorrow.” Can this group of players stay up? “Absolutely. I see them work every day. They’re good footballers. Yes, at times you need a little bit of luck. From what I see in terms of endeavour, it’s there.” How to approach this weekend's game? “We take a bit of everything. I think there were good elements in how Steve was getting the team to play. But there are areas to improve.” Atmosphere at training? “Training has been good as any week since I’ve been at the football club.” Edited 29 November 2024 by moore_94 1 4

cityfanlee23 Posted 29 November 2024 Posted 29 November 2024 I'm probably completely wrong but this is how I imagine we will setup, I think Justin will be asked to invert into midfield and Kristiansen will become the left sided CB in a back 3. I have a funny feeling Soumare will feature heavily in RVN's plans, he fits the Sangare role that he had at PSV of being a defensive minded midfielder who can also be quite comfortable on the ball. If all players were fit, I'd guess Ricardo would be at RB inverting to CM, Winks will very much suit RVN and would replace Ndidi, and El Khannouss may be dropped, Buonanotte taking his spot and Fatawu stepping in to right wing. I won't be surprised at all if the Soumare call is wrong and Ndidi returns to his old CDM role, the attacking experiment worked fine in the Championship, but going forward Ndidi has been caught out too often this season.
