I said guaranteed entertainment. Guaranteed being the key word. Sometimes football matches are entertaining, sometimes not. For example, not every match Liverpool or Spurs play is entertaining but they can be very entertaining to watch on their day. However, every musical is entertaining. That's what they are there for.  A football match is there to be won first and foremost. If one looks at football in general terms than certainly it should entertain and over a season there will be an amount of entertaining games. Same as cricket, some matches are exciting and some are dull. Problem is entertainment is arguably not the main objective although the current England cricket team are trying toentertain and they have been told that results are not the be all and end all. I guess England cricket dont have the spectre of relegation haunting them so they are, to an extent, free to take a swashbuckling approach. If a football fan goes to every match expecting to be royally entertained I fear they will be regularly disappointed unfortunately. Anyway, I hate musicals! Peace ✌️

Just to be clear, I said football was meant to be entertaining, not guaranteed to be entertaining. Two very different things. You added the word guaranteed and then argued that guaranteed entertainment isn’t possible in football - no one has said it is! 😂

If wages are an issue and we haven’t figured it out the previous two times we went after potter the sanity of our recruitment process comes under serious questions

That article is complete crap from start to finish.

Next manager will say a lot about what is priority for Top.

Moyes = sensible, its about points.

Potter = mixed, he has EPL experience, but also will play more to Top's ideology, although not pure Enzo/Rodgers type.  Interestingly Brighton have improved since he went, same with Chelsea.

Young up coming manager =- ideology first.

New owners at Everton are rumoured to want Moyes to go back there.

Maybe, that is why Top has moved faster than we expected with this sacking.

Either that, or Potter has finally agreed to join us, after being concerned about point deductions in the Summer.

Can't see it being anyone else. Moyes or Potter.

Moyes or Potter for me,

Feel Top will finally get Potter in this time.

I have serious doubts about hiring Potter. He has had multiple chances to come and he can therefore **** right off.

considering what a brutal career football management is, not coming 1) after brendan’s dumpster fire; 2) in the championship; 3) with a looming points deduction that relegated you before you start…I think that just means he’s got a smart head on his shoulders.

I don’t want a manager thats not smart enough to see, that all 3 of those scenarios are all risk and very little benefit. I want a manager that is analytical and has good judgment so turning us down before are positives for me.

Logically you are completely right.  I am just not feeling it though :)  That said, if he did want it now, that would be a vote of confidence that he thinks he can keep us up.  BRING ON THE POTTER!

Timing and the fact Cooper's, without suspecting a thing apparently (he really isn't the brightest bless him), been on thin ice since at least Ipswich away means surely even our inept management must have had lines of communications with Potter and the timings better i.e No England job, no Man U job and I assume better availability of his backroom staff.

Come on down Graham!

As i am confident this is how the board will have done their research lol ... I asked AI for the info...

RVN - Coaching style
Van Nistelrooy's coaching style is pragmatic, with a focus on counterattacking. He's also known for being prepared to listen to and learn from other sources.
Gerrimin... League champions 25/26 :)

Potter - Coaching Style
Potter is a tactically flexible, attacking, and possession-based manager. He has a history of tactical excellence and is known for working well with young players.
No thanks - No young players and the old ones can barely trap a bag of cement

Moyes - Coaching Style
Moyes is known for his defensive tactics and for bringing out the best in his players
No thanks, boring and the best in this group isnt good enough.

Has to be Moyes surely - performed wonders at the hammers - small budget initially brought in some excellent signings including from the championship with talented young players and has some good coaches who will bring fight and organisation.

we need someone who will keep us up, knows the  division and then stabilise us - he did this and more at west ham - we should be getting him imo

I think with Potter, Brighton were on an upward path when he left, so I am not sure if they have improved as such more just kept on the same path.

Chelsea have also spent loads and sacked a manager in the meantime.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it seems RVN is closer to Hamburg than Leicester!

This is good news, why would RVN possibly be a good choice? He has done nothing to warrant a job in the premier league the other 2 are proven managers! I would be happy with potter or moyes tbf

I've seen this used a few times now as a stick to beat Potter with. He did a superb job at Brighton and left them in great shape for the next manager, as did De Zerbi and this current manager will. Think it's unfair to downplay the job he did there personally
