The supposed know-it-all that is Fabrizio Romano has also been strangely quiet

He’s holding fire after jumping the gun for the Potter news in the summer.

Are we all a bit worried we’ve just got our heads round it being RVN and Lee Carsley’s gonna rock up from left field?

It could just as easily be Alan Curbishley, Zidane, David O'Leary or Gareth Southgate, no-one really knows. It seems we have collectively decided it's going to be RVN without a single shred of reliable information, this is why we love FT

Yes possibly , but then I’m still coping with the knowledge that we aren’t getting Mourinho so my disappointment is priced in

We are currently run as a car crash waiting to happen.  Who realistically wants to come?  I would welcome RVN with open arms we can't afford to be choosy.

Would be happy with RVN or Corberan tbh.

RVN could make us a lot more exciting, slightly risky but maybe worth it.

Corberan would steady the ship and get us playing as a team but the football wouldn't be that exciting though.

Every appointment we can make is a risk. Moyes was a disaster at Sunderland, coberan hasn’t managed in the premier league, potter needs time to build , RVN is inexperienced. Etc…

One thing we know it wasn’t working with cooper, you would have thought the players would be up for working with RVN.

Might still be someone else, but all appointments are a risk.

This.  Suffered the Sunderland v West Brom game last night a borefest 0 0.  WBA worse than us under Enzo dull as dishwater, no attacking intent at all  Five at the back four in midfield one striker when he received the ball he passed back they passed back to their keeper more than we use to under Enzo.  Corberan no thanks.

Maybe. But I've heard it all before.

There's 'laughing at' and then there's 'making a play on words/terrible punning'.

For my part, I love Wales and generally like language. Best not to lump us all together I think.

One thing I like about the prospect of Ruud is that he’ll be ruthless.

It will do his reputation no good to have a relegation on his CV and if he has to upset people along the way I think he will.

I would expect the defence in our first 11 to get significantly stronger as well as at least one new attacker signed.

Can see the likes of Thomas, Choudhury and Coady shown the door in Jan.

As long as he doesn’t upset BDCR and Bouba we should be good.

In all seriousness we do need someone to come in and show some rockets. We need a leader who is going to demand respect and Ruud does that. I also do think player power is quite strong at this club, it seems like Top often lends an ear to players a bit too often for my liking. It can work in some respects such as with Cooper since it seems to have pushed Top into making a change that we can all see is necessary, but every time someone gets sacked around here it sounds like the players have had a strong role in it happening, which fundamentally I hate.

The balance of power at the club has seemed a bit toxic/skewed towards players since Pearson left. It’s about time we had a warrior in charge who isn’t afraid to bash some heads together and put up a barrier between the board and the changing room.

For a neutral this was not great but surely credit for a pragmatic performance at a tough away venue . Something I’d love to see occasionally

I'd like to think tops started learning hus lesson and wouldn't be stupid enough to have carsley cross his mind.

Agree. And I'm more than happy to laugh at myself and indeed any language including Cymraeg/Welsh. I lived long enough out of Wales in England (including Leicester) and Scotland to enjoy banter. I may indeed have appeared a it thin-skinned on this one and I certainly am not having a go at those being genuinely playful and having a laugh. We do however get quite a lot of disrespect from some in the media who go out of their way to get say French places correctly (as they should), but for two days this week couldn't say the name of my hometown right. Anyway, I'll put my coat on as I've probably been a tad thin-skinned on this way. Appreciate your post and apologies if anyone was offended by my responses.

We missed our top targets in the summer because they looked at us and Cooper as manager and went, errrr no, you're alright.

If they looked at us now with our new shexxxxxxy manager (if it happens), we're much more of a draw for better players.

Suddenly rather excited at the prospect of RVN and the calibre of players he could attract.

Probably means that it’s gonna be Moyes or Potter then

If official then they are ruled out. What we do know is no one lined up.

Carsley would be an interesting one. Bloods young players. Seems to be a decent coach. When England played Greece his selection was horrific but he tried something different. He also talked about entertaining fans, which is something that appeals. He seems well thought of.

Time to nail your colours to the mast - Are you a Ruud boy are will you get a cob on if it's not Corberan? Its an Apples and Oranges situation, it's not a direct like for like comparison, perhaps easier to envisage what it would be like under Corboran but with a ceiling to it whereas Ruud is potentially more exciting but a step into the unknown?

I'm wavering between them but knowing how crucial survival is I'm starting to lean towards the less glamorous but perhaps safer option of Corberan. Then again......:dunno:
