Interesting he said a few times about working with a “plan” which is what we don’t have under cooper. You can see the plan under RVN just hope we get a few in before the 2 home games next month.

Well, today were the very first green shoots I've seen.

I've caned the bloke on this thread. Really don't fancy him.

But we looked organised,.prepared and, at last, he picked more or less our best players for a change.

Thought Daka should've come on 10 mins earlier though.

Pace on the wing, quality FBs and a bit more industry in the middle and I suspect RVN will feel much more content.

After the Wolves game, I thought we were eleven players away. Now I think we're a RB, winger, box-to-box midfielder and perhaps a striker.

There are already reports that he'll be using his contacts at Old Trafford to bring in players. Malacia could be an upgrade and do well in a new setting, as could Zirkzee on the wing.

We can only have 2 PL loans, and we already have them filled.

Maybe palace will take Edouard back, but it will cost us.

That leaves one to come in as we aren’t shelling out for them (nor should we the fees they would cost).

In what universe does Steve Cooper take more points from the last 5? We had lost all confidence under him and the only game you would argue that the result has gone against what we expected was Wolves which was a Danny Ward disaster class, otherwise they have all been as expected.

Let's just get behind Van Nistelrooy and the team, we have half the season left to go and we will get results if we keep on playing football like we did today

The cooper comment came from pure frustration at losing today. Your right it would be a strange universe. Still not convinced by RVN hope your right  though and it is green shoots.

Zirkzee is probably the most likely of the two in my view. Kristiansen is playing, suggesting that the need for an LB is considered less urgent. Edouard isn't even getting on the bench, and our only other attacking options are Daka and Vardy. Plus Zirkzee can play up front and on the wing- two positions where we are short with Fatawu's injury.

There's something there. It might still not be great but I do feel we look a bit more organised and we're passing the ball better.

He's an inexperienced manager so he'll make mistakes and the squad he has at his disposal is poor. He needs backing in January and I wouldn't even contemplate sacking him this season or next for that matter

Spot on for me too.

Why the hell did he not start that front 6 at home to Wolves? It gave us 5 technical players behind Vardy, lots more fluidity in forward areas and 2 CMs who are good on the ball and able to progress the ball through the thirds. When we get relegated, it will be that game against Wolves, which will be seen as the sliding doors moment of the season, I fear.

There's a lot more football to play, yes had we beat them the gap would of been bigger, but there's a lot of football to play, half a season, way to early to be looking at other results, let's get on track for the next 10-12 games and hopefully we don't need to be bothered about other teams. Wolves could pull well clear another team may get sucked back in West ham? Who knows, what we do know is we need about 7 wins from 19 games.

Got 3 so far ,this group of players are a honest bunch but not good enough.

He seems to have changed shape? Mavididi stays wide left and JJ pushes on to give width on the other side. The right winger comes inside to form the box and now Kristiansen is shifting across to centre back.

Previously it was Kristiansen pushing forward to play wide left

Today was the first good 90 minute performance we’ve had under him and probably all season. I’m extremely skeptical about the appointment,  but today at least gives us some hope that his ideas are decent.

I'm skeptical of pretty much everything to do with the club but Ruud is right down at the bottom of the list of problems right now. If he keeps us up he's worked a minor miracle with that squad of player

We looked really good today against a tired and weakened Manchester City, that being said they’re still stronger than us in every department and I believe we at least deserved a point. I found today encouraging. We have to get January right though, we need an entirely new defence I think over the course of the next few windows.

Today is the blueprint in how we need to play. I think Ruud didn't pick Bilal and Facundo together because he believed they were too similar, but today proved when they do play together, our possession and attacking play is much better. The knock effect being we also don't concede so many shots against us.

Oh yeah if he keeps that squad up, he’s the real deal. I just think the jury is out about him at the moment because there’s nothing to go off really.

His leadership is clearly respected when you see what Kristiansen has said in his thread.

He's got more respect than I think Cooper ever had.

I hope that continues to show as time progresses. It can only garner positive outcomes having a strong leader in place.

See how long he sticks around when Rudders does another master class during January

My fear all along with him is basically this. Have they lied to get him here like they have the last three managers?

I think yesterday proved how important Winks is for us. Against West Ham and yesterday we actually had a midfield. Winks received the ball from the the defence and we could progress up the pitch. None of our other centre mids have the technical ability on their own. I think he's our most important player.

I wish Soumare would just move with the ball a bit more rather than getting rid of it so quickly. He could be a great player if coached properly.

Agree. Just wish we hadn't wasted £25m on Skipp. Could have really used that money this window. Crap Cooper signing

One of the most criminal wastes of money I can remember even by us. I said at the time it was a 3/10 signing. I was wrong - it's far worse. The bloke wouldn't stand out at Preston or QPR. For a club in our position to hand out that much money on a player who doesn't improve our XI, in a position we weren't desperately short in. Whoever signed that off should be out the door, but we know who that is, and we know that there's no chance they will be.
