I doubt it. If they'd already reached an agreement, a better response to this line of questioning would be "I've agreed that I'll sit down with the club at the end of the season discuss our options. Until then I'm just focused on this season." Repeatedly saying, "I want clarity but the club won't sit down with me" makes the club look really bad. There is no way that is an agreed strategy. They really haven't told him yet.

I see what you are saying but you honestly believe that Top and Rudkin just keep ignoring Ruud and not speaking to him and yet numerous media outlets are reporting he is leaving at the end of the season and will be replaced and yet Ruud is completely in the dark to it all, I just don’t buy it at all.

Yes we’ve picked up wins against the rubbish we are going down with but why should we be respectful of him?  He’ll get a decent pay out and then get a job back in Holland.
17 defeats not 5 or 6 but fvcking 17!!!
We win 2 or 3 of those games and pick up a few draws and we would at least be going into the last few games with a chance of stopping up.
I’m not saying we’d of definitely stopped up but we’d of given ourselves a fighting chance.
But we don’t want to disrespect a manager with 17 defeats out of 19 and not scoring in 9 consecutive home games…….
If I was Ruud I’d count myself very lucky to of even lasted till the end of this season.

It seems certain RvN will be out of s job on Monday. In earlier posts, reference has been made to being out  of his depth. It's true he perhaps had not appreciated the lack of quality players we have, and unlucky with injuries to Fatawu and Pereira. Nevertheless, of possible replacements mentioned, I do not think anyone could make a significant difference compared to RvN.. I realise I am in a tiny minority who think he should be given a chance next season, hopefully with one or two new players - who knows given incompetence of Board. Unless he chose to resign, we have to pay his contract when that could be used for a new player - and that is assuming we appoint an out of wok manager. WE know we have several good young players who he will play, as ahs been shown already.

If he is sacked,  can see no replacement lasting more tea season, or just over. We could be in danger of entering Watford territory, no decent recruitment of players and money spent on new managers. Is there anyone who actually wants Dyche, Martin et al - is anyone who we can feel optimistic about? I doubt it.

I kind of feel sorry for RVN, he’s been awful as our manager. But getting no support from above is a disgrace. In today’s press conference, he said he has had no contact with  owners or board for weeks. What’s wrong with the hierarchy at the club? Shambles

Top needs to look at himself.  The kid is out of his depth

I dislike how we’re run as much as most but feeling sorry for Ruud doesn’t sit with me.

I know that I don’t work in the football industry but if I wanted to sit down with my director and they were “ghosting me”, I’d do quite a few things to have this chat.

Top/Rudkin are clowns but can’t help but think Ruud is playing to the current public disdain of them and got his PR mode out in full force.

He’s been statistically one of the worst PL managers in history, surely he doesn’t expect to stay on.

Wonder if this will drag on to 1st July

Due to PSR and perhaps some clause in the contract

Maybe but you would like to think both sides could mutually agree something earlier.

RVN knows he is leaving. The Club knows. What is stopping it being announced - only money and PSR implications probably.

The main thing is the new man, whoever that is, is going to need to time to implement plans, bring in backroom staff and players......unless this has all being going on in the background.

Heard a few mutterings saying it was July 1st. Feel a bit sorry for the guy, clearly out of his depth but the chaos above him helps no one.

Of course he’ll do very well out of it, as they always do, and if Russell Martin is the so called solution I think I’d rather give Ruud the first 8-10 games of next season anyway.

One of the problems with giving RVN 8-10 games next season is that comes with the Club bringing in his players and committing to his style of play.  When Top and Co then decide to change course, which is more likely than not, you can guarantee the next manager won't be having the players and will have a different footballing philosophy and the doom cycle continues.

Shake hands tomorrow and kick on.

The next five weeks are going to be like a game of managerial Cluedo as various candidates are eliminated as they accept other jobs until we’re finally left with Russell Martin in the Seagrave Wellness Room with a book of inspirational Buddhist quotes.

If only we had a competent DoF who knew what he was doing and knew what a good manager looked like. Or a board change, oh how we dream?!

You could say the same about employing a new manager, another 3 year deal, you back Martin, he bring us some more pathetic tippy tappy players from Saints, we sack him, pay him off, bring in a new man to work with his players, he doesn’t succeed so we sack him next summer. It so starts to get very Watford quickly.

If we bring in Martin he’d better have instant impact as I will be gunning for him from day 1 as he’s a shit ****.

You are absolutely right that there is risk with any decision (stick/twist), especially if the people making the decision have failed (repeatedly) before.

That doesn’t mean it would wrong to move on from RVN tho.

It might mean it’s wrong to move him on if we are bringing in some halfwit like Martin especially if they are going to wait until July 1st whoever it is needs the summer even if it’s that obnoxious boring bearded twat Martin
