So do we sack him then? Don't see the point myself as I don't think we stay up regardless and it's just further expense. Let's face it we're doing nothing of note in the January transfer window so we're going with what we've got.

By all means give him the boot in the summer if It's needed

Most depressing aspect is being mid window and knowing your down already.

Thank you to Top and the board for allowing this predicament yet again.

It can't be ignored or forgiven this time. We need change from top to bottom. Even if it sets us back short time at least we'll be on the right track to doing things like a proper football club again

BEK sub was odd. Seemed to be the only player who broke lines and didn’t give the ba away constantly

Yeah but he moved to a 4-4-2 and in that system you need stronger central midfielders, Goodnight and BEK are not that. The problem is although it allowed two up top, the midfielders we have aren’t good enough for that and we only have one winger at the club at the minute fit, and he’s not good enough either! We’re down and I look forward to playing in a league we will compete in, would hate to be a Palace every week clinging on to the league losing more than your winning, boring.

Anybody who thinks Cooper was the main problem and RVN is now are seriously deluded

we all know the main problem/s but we have more chance of 6 numbers on the lottery than that being fixed

Two relegations in three years! Impressive.

Cooper wasn't the main problem, but he shouldn't have been anywhere near the Job. Which kinda back up what you are eluding too.

I can see signs of improvement under RVN, but you can't argue with the results.

I'd have been interested to see how we'd have done with Mads available for Ruud. Stol isn't bad but Mads has the ability to get us out of jail. I think that's a massive miss and ultimately is what will cost us our league place. What seemed like a small injury is going to end up being a long time out.

How is he supposed to make Vestergaard, Okoli, Faes, Coady any better? Genuine q. None of them are good enough for this level. You can’t polish a turd as they say.

Sorry I can't absolve the manager of responsibility. He took the gig and likely said at interview that he would use tactical nous and motivational skills to improve that (turd) defence. He hasn't and that's the measure I'm applying to my assessment.

Prior, Taggart, Walsh, Elliot, Marshall etc etc. Sometimes it's about how you set them up and motivate them. The whole is greater!!!!

Exactly right. The squad is terrible but it's been terrible all season, it's not just a new thing.

If we finished chances like we did under Cooper we’d be around 15th now. We were clinical under him then Ruud’s come in, the performances have improved but we can’t hit a barn door

Was always of the opinion that the only way we would avoid relegation this season was to adopt a Dogs of War attitude and mentality. Sadly, Top and Co. still seemed obsessed with the Pound Shop Pep brand of football with Poundland players, which is sinking us quicker than the Titanic. Looks like RVN is going to be the latest manager to be let down in this transfer window and he must regret the day he came through the door.

I don’t particularly blame him but I wasn’t massively for the appointment if I’m honest.  He’s got no real experience and we needed a calm & steady head. I just think no one else wanted it. Also, he can’t polish a turd.

I agree that you change the plan if it’s not working. However you’re asking him to change plan 6/7 games into his tenure, with the same coaches, no pre-season, same players.

As fans we need to show some patience and realise that any manager, and any plan, cannot instantly turn this sh!tshow around… I can see plenty of positives under RVN, despite the result we played some great football last night and with a bit of luck / better finishing would win the game.

Now is the time to stick to the plan not change it.

He's had 9 league games a 1/4 season, 10 if you add in the cup game.

I'm asking him to tweak it, and get the best of of what he has.

There are positive and sign of improvements in our patterns of play and structure but we are still not effective.

In his time here we have conceded 18 league goals, average 2.11 goals against per game.

We have scored 7 at an average of 0.77 per game.

We have fail to score in the last 3 home games.

We are ineffective in both boxes, the business end.

He needs to improve things quickly.

Those stats are of a team that will go down without a fight.

What are you definition of great football?

He been dealt a shit hand, but that was the job he accepted.

But that's the thing when Cooper was in charge many were claiming we had a mid table squad  being held back by Cooper and now all of a sudden its a poor squad and RVN don't have a chance

It now comes down to whether or not he is the best manager to take us back up again and whether he even fancies that himself - I'm not so sure.

Currently any thread on "A Manager" is pointless for a number of reasons.  Its not really their fault, it the owners/Board whatever.  That Squad is NOT Premier League quality, ALL purchases aside from BEK in the summer were not Premier League Quality.

Cooper was slightly more lucky he had a full squad to chose from.

RVN has had no Mads or Fatawu to chose from, that is pretty tough and no Wilf either as an option.  I always say, don't pull the trigger IF you haven't got a very good idea who the replacement is, and they should hopefully be better.  Moyes would have been perfect for this situation, but he wouldn't come, so they made their choice.  He'll either jump or be pushed at the end of the season I think.

"They" have turned us from a comfortable mid table side into a yo yo club, and we are sitting here with one £3m transfer, where nobody really know ifs its inspired or totally cost based.

Club currently are a joke, not much the manager can do about it, that was about the best available team out there last night & well exposed.

I do think injuries have had a massive impact on our performances since Cooper left. Given the lack of quality in the squad overall, having Mads, Ricardo, Abdul and Wilf unavailable has been a fatal blow in my view.
