JimJams Posted 5 December 2024 Posted 5 December 2024 He got an injury and there's an element of criticism that if he's not scoring he's not offering much else so Welbeck has been preferred by their new gaffer, who in fairness hasn't seen Ferguson first hand before, and Welbz has been in good form.
Sly Posted 18 December 2024 Author Posted 18 December 2024 If we loan him, it means Buonanotte is going back.

JimJams Posted 18 December 2024 Posted 18 December 2024 Well he's done fxxk all since coming back into the fold.

Outfox the Fox Posted 27 December 2024 Posted 27 December 2024 Interesting that Feguson isn't in the Brighton squad at all tonight. As far as I know, he isn't injured or suspended. On his way out? On his way to us?!
JimJams Posted 27 December 2024 Posted 27 December 2024 We're giving them Buo back and taking Ferguson on a loan to buy aren't we?

If Ruud has a winger earmarked for us to sign, then I’d take this. Buonanotte is great but Evan would most certainly assist us more I think. Given a good run in a team he will score goals. Brighton are foolish to let him go in my opinion, very foolish.

If that is the case, I'd be happy with this. It would see us go back to the model of signing young players who have loads of potential but who have lost their way a bit.
JimJams Posted 28 December 2024 Posted 28 December 2024 That's only worked with Tielemans though hasn't it? And he went on a free.
whoareyaaa Posted 28 December 2024 Posted 28 December 2024 (edited) He looked pretty good when I've seen him play, might be a good move, 20m at tops though probably not even worth that tbf. Edited 28 December 2024 by whoareyaaa

honeybradger Posted 28 December 2024 Posted 28 December 2024 He's been poor for a while now. There are plenty of young strikers who are better and who we can sign permanently.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 29 December 2024 Posted 29 December 2024 I’ll be honest I wasn’t very impressed with him against us and that’s against a defence that’s questionable at best. 1
Nick Posted 30 December 2024 Posted 30 December 2024 I'd rather keep Buonotte and look elsewhere - I thought Mav, El K and Goodnight behind Vardy has promise. Prioritise the RWB position that's where we are currently flailing and leave Evan Ferguson to others unless we insanely have the cash or go shit or bust and buy him. 4

Our front 4 yesterday were as good as we're realistically going to get this season. They're capable of keeping us up. As you say, priorities lie elsewhere, although we do need more depth in attacking areas. McAteer and Daka are absolutely not good enough to keep us in this league! 3

We need a striker who can give us more in my opinion. Too often the ball doesn't stick up top, we have no out ball. All come down to how much we have to spend. Same with our wide areas, we need more quality. We are a couple of injuries away from have Daka and McAteer being first choice. I'd we just buy a RB we are going down, minimum for me is a RB, CB, CF and a winger. 1

I think needing those 5 positions improved with starting calibre players is a given but I've no idea how we achieve that in a Jan window. I'd have thought 2/3 at absolute best but I hope to be surprised!

We won't be signing another CB while we have 4 currently available unless we can shift one. RB, CF and Winger should be priority... We also have 4 wingers in Ayew, Ried, Mcateer and Madivi but none of them are really producing enough. Edited 30 December 2024 by whoareyaaa

If we don't strengthen the defense we go down. 1

We were in a similar position in January 22/23, and only brought in 3 and went down. If we don't bring in a numbers and quality we go down. I think to do it we would need to sell Hermansen in June to fund it. Edited 30 December 2024 by coolhandfox
