At least we didn’t spent the entire summer kitty on players that are either fringe or don’t feature! Glover & Rudkin out

Yep, £30m on Skipp and then we play Soumare who we only have because he’s worth less than an empty packet of Walkers Prawn Cocktail crisps and still nobody will take him

That team is fine. He watched the same shower of shit we all saw on Saturday, I don’t blame him for trying something.

He’s had one training sesh with them. Tonight is a free hit.

Our midfield is a hot mess.

How are we still playing Soumare 2 years after we all realised he is utter bobbins

Didn't you hear? He's really good now because he made a run in the Ipswich game.

I was just wondering how you get this squad playing the Enzo way and realised we don't have a player capable of doing what Ricardo did for us last season. Choudhury just won't cut it in the Prem playing that role.

Then you realise why Winks played all those games last season. We haven't another midfielder that can play that way.

There are clear reasons why we didn't strengthen in those two positions in the summer- 1. Those type of players aren't available, they have to be developed. 2. Most were highly concerned if we played the Enzo way we'd get cut open regularly.

Therefore, we are a squad in transition. This is what we have until we can purchase players again.

My point is It will be really interesting what Ruud's style of choice is. But we aren't going to see that tonight. He hasn't had the opportunity to train or buy players in the Summer. He has had 2 days.

He can't be judged until 10 games after the Jan window has shut. Unless he is really, really bad.

All this coverage about Leicester, don’t they realise there’s another team playing? May as well be watching sky sports

Well that's a Ruud awakening!! Macateer over Mavadidi surprised like everyone on this one. Looking at the central midfield we really need to get a solid midfielder in there in January. I also want to see Coady put in a performance, he talks the talk but seen nothing since he signed from him. Fingers crossed, legs crossed, eyes crossed, everything crossed! heres to hopes and dreams we win, forgetting what it feels like.

Gave away a good penalty at Palace tbf.

People blaming Ruud for a selection they don't like two days into his tenure, with an injury crisis and during a woeful loss of form?

i know shocking, hes got no chance already according to most on here, jesus...........

He’s basically gone for a solid back 4, then a double pivot destroyers.

The key will be one turnover in transition to counter attack.

Kasey I think offers a higher work rate than Mavididi, hence why he’s been given a chance.

It’s a gritty, no frills line up to be honest. It’ll grind results out, rather than be flashy.

I see the sense in what he’s gone with.

Amazon are a dystopian nightmare, but this coverage… They’re actually talking about the teams playing.

If this was garbage Sky they would’ve spent the last hour talking about how Manchester City lost at the weekend and I would’ve been charged £60 per month for the privilege.

Soumare is no destroyer. He barely breaks a sweat or gets within 20 yards of the opposition.

Sounds like something from Robot Wars. This the footballing terminology we all crave, you can shove a box 3 where the sun don’t shine for me.

Have to just wait and see how the players respond to ruud and his tactics, it's game 1 and will have to judge the team selection after the game.

Whilst I don't believe I have seen enough from Mcateer to say he's premier league quality, he never gives you any less than 100%.

So lets just see how it plays out and go from there before being overly critical.

However I will absolutely be ready to start the Ruud Out thread if we lose 😅

The really depressing thing is that Lucas, Antonio and Fullkrug don't even get in the side, these are our relegation rivals!

In fact virtually all of their subs would be shoe in for us.

How the hell did we get here? 😕
