We weren’t 5th in the league.

Yeah, I know... Brighton is a good club... my quoting you earlier was mostly TIC...

Only the third time this season our XG has been more than our opponents in the league.

Today was our best XG against this season, albeit against a tired Brighton side.

It did feel like we were more organised and better at restricting our opponent.

And it's only taken a week for RVN is implement. It just shows how poor cooper was. We have a structure which under cooper we didn't at all. 1 week to see an improvement in the way we play.

And yet the person that employed him is still at the club.

Enzos style of play wasn't to everyones liking but inside a week we seem, to me anyway, to have reverted back to that a little, playing out a bit more from the back , using mads as a ball playing keeper, keeping hold of the ball for periods (at times).  Personally i think we look better for it and the players seem comfortable with it, which makes sense given it was drilled into them by enzo.  I still can't fathom why Cooper changed so much of what we were good at last season.

Overall we deserved a draw i think and with buanotte and winks still to come back, i can see us improving further.  We will never be world beaters with this squad but i think a comfortable mid table finish is a realistic aim this season. There is some sh*t in this division and brighton are one of the better sides.

A mix of fear/cowardice and his own tactical limitations.

I think Ruud has played 2 different systems against West Ham and Brighton. Which is also 2 more than Cooper.

Another weekend where we avoid sitting in the drop zone. Everton will more than likely lose their game in hand and having another game to play in back end of December won't help them for sure. Newcastle will be a tough game for sure.

5 points clear of the drop zone is happy days! Could do with a West Ham win tonight.

a draw would hopefully keep both managers in a job. Last thing we want is Wolves turning up in two weeks with a new manager in charge.

Not sure Lopetegui survives a draw

?? Brighton's was higher than ours. Yet again a team had lots of chances against us and probably could have been more than 1 up at HT. Especially that Mitoma chance.

1.42-1.12.

We had 3 ‘big chances’.

They had none. Just half chances.

Word on the formation that Ruud switched to after the Daka change. 4-2-2-2. It worked very well for both goals in terms of pressing and creating through the middle with marauding wing backs.

Nice tweak RVN. 👏🏼

Watched the highlights back this morning.

Wondered why they paid so much attention to the Igor Julio sub, then realised it was his laziness and mistake that led to our equaliser.

Not the first time Brighton have lost concentration in a game, when you think about what Wieffer did vs Wolves (?).

Their game-management seems to be a bit of an issue.

They've drawn with us, Saints, Ipswich, and Wolves this season. They were 2-0 up late on against us and Wolves, and also took the lead against Saints. There's an issue there.

a quick browse on their forum and they are already starting to question their manager.

We've suffered from the same negative mindset under Cooper and Rodgers, sending on an extra CB to see out a game, and conceding anyway. They've got so much talent in the squad, they should be finishing in a Euro place.
