Wouls take him back but we need to concentrate on the defence first. That should include a top class exerienced defender on loan (Maguire / Trippier or Chilwell).

 

We cant waste the whole of Jan playing with the same crap defence

He’s only ever been a standout player in a side far too good for The Championship. If you think that is the answer to our problems then you’re wrong.

He would be the answer to one of the many problems.  Someone in midfield that will actually track runners, press and tackle as well as driving forwards, looking to send the attackers in higher up the pitch.

 

This sort of player would help reduce the pressure on the defence.

It bring his whole fee (35m) in to this year's books rather then it being amortised over the length of his contract.

 

So they would be booking a - 8m in there PSR position.

Ohh interesting, I didn’t realize that’s how it worked actually.

Easy to solve, not that they will, but in theory we could agree to buy KDH back for 5m and the next-Michael-Golding for 30m on a 5 year contract.

Even if we could sign him for 10m less than we sold him for the problem is the wages. They offered him a pay rise to go there so he's not going to leave for less than he's on which is probably around 100k a week. That's the problem Chelsea have with all of the players they are trying to shift. It's the same problem we have, any team that would take players we want to get rid off can't pay them what we are. We can't pay chelsea wages. Chilwell is on around 200k per week apparently. It's insane some of the contracts they handed out and they were long ones.

We could sign him for the same fee they paid and put him on a 5 year contract and it would only cost us £6m per season from a PSR perspective, whilst ensuring Chelsea at least balance his their PSR position.

Depends on the player. some of them would prefer to play. its not like he’d be on a bad salary here.

KDH would be cunty to expect us to match his Chelsea wages.

 

If he never wanted to go in the first place surely he'd accept coming back for a pay cut.

They gave him a 6 year contract too. Let's say he took a 40k pay cut a week to come and play for us again that would be him walking away from almost £11.5m over the duration of the contract he has. Football is a short career and that is a lot of money for anyone. Chelsea have made it almost impossible for anyone to leave with the crazy contracts they have handed out. He may as well see his contract out and go out on loan to play football for the next 5 and a half years. I wouldn't blame him.

Have people forgotten how crap Chilwell is? Even Thomas looked better than him at the time he played for us.
