Summer months I tend to wake up 5.30 or 6am. Not because I need to be up, just my body decides it needs to get up. Winter time it tends to be closer to 7am.

Strangely I can get myself to take a nap in the afternoon, but it's very rare I can keep sleeping in the morning.

Anyone else find they wake up early even when they don't need to?

I start work at 6, and I can't leave the house without having a dump and a shower so I'm up at half 4 on work days. On days off I'm usually awake by about 6 because my body clock demands I have a poo.

Shower second to bathe the area but with the draw back of showering in the stench? Dilemma ain't it

I wish I could schedule getting up early but my son decides when we get up. On a good day it’s 6:30, but often itcan be 3 or 4 am in the morning. So a cpl of days a week I’m up at that time, sometimes at 6. Usually asleep for 11, so my bodyclock is constantly all over the place - not healthy.

I work shifts but get up at 06:45 every work day regardless. This runs over into Saturday though as I just know to get up now. Sunday's are sometimes better and I can stay in bed an hour or so longer.

I find it harder in winter though as it's colder and darker. Summer time I enjoy the early mornings, best part of the day.

Usually around 7 but its definitely harder when its a bit darker. 'Try' to go to the gym in the morning a couple of times a week so its around 6am on those days.

Kids have a great habit of being tough to wake up for school yet keen to get up as soon as they wake on a weekend.

Must admit, I do enjoy getting up early occasionally on a weekend before everyone else does and enjoying some peace in front of the TV watching some sport from the other side of the world, cricket or aussie rules usually lol

When im not working then I like getting up early 6.30am usually, If I am working then its a struggle and fight with the alarm.

Then I end up falling sleep at like 9pm though... I think you can train your body clock to what ever really.

Interesting theory. When astronauts take a year long journey to Mars, will they adapt to sleeping most days? I should change that, they won't have "days" out in space.

Surely they will.

Probably do what submariners do and have the joy of a six on, six off shift.

I would assume it would be similar to the ISS schedule, which is eight hours sleep followed by 16 hours of whatever the mission plan says, to the letter, day after day.

Presumably there are days where downtime is worked into that mission plan.
